a combination of all 3. Topic first - if it's something I'm not interested in or don't know about, I won't answer it. Spelling and grammar also turn me off, and sometimes make the question incomprehensible.

Good question, It depends on how bad the grammar is but there have been times the poor spelling and grammar did not stop me from answering. However, what has stopped me from answering some questions are people who post the same types of questions over and over. There are people on here that need some major help and when I begin notice that I realize that I can not help them, they need more than Yahoo Q and A, a bit of entertaining knowledgeable advise or life experience is not enough. I also avoid questions from obviously younger people asking sex related questions (that's thier parents job) and any questions that are blatantly hate filled.

For me, it's topic, If I don't understand what is being asked, then I won't answer (I don't want to look uneducated). Sometimes I feel that poor grammar and spelling will aid in misunderstanding the question being asked.

While some of the spelling and grammar is questionable at best, it is definitely the topic that gets my attention. If it is stupid, sounds childish or is just silly, I pass right by. If it is interesting or has humor it will get an answer if I have one.

I generally attribute grammar and spelling mistakes to typing errors and don't get too stressed about them. Basically I reject questions that seem to repeat others that I have already answered (some questions seem to come up almost daily!) and I reject questions that are not serious, although occasionally I will take one of these on when I am in the mood. And of course, if the question is not in my area of expertise, I pass it by as well.

When I don't understand the question I won't answer it. I don't understand them because the person is usually using really bad grammar and spelling. Everyone should use the Spell Check. It is a great tool!!

I generally avoid topics I know little about. Afterall, I don't want to look as stupid as all those people with lousy spelling, grammar, and syntax!

Topic. If the question is sincere I can see through bad grammar and spelling.
