Seeing as most cars fill up for about $60.00 on the high side, and most cars get about 300 miles a tank. you could drive round trip for about $80.00. Taking a train could cost you about $50.00 to $120.00 plus getting a ride, waiting for the train, maybe having to transfer. I think it is less stressful, and quicker to drive. If you are planning on drinking then just call a cab and get off the road.

You must take into account this:
First, if there is available or convenient train service between the cities that you will be travelling.
Second, you must take into account for the car trip the cost of fuel, parking, insurance, oil, tyres, depreciation, time saving or time use (if you are driving you cannot do other thing!) and tolls (if there are on the road that you will use).
It´s a nonsense to fly for a trip of 200 miles... you spent more time going to and from the airport than on the plane.
And the bus is uncomfortable and slower.

About intercity train fares: there are deals and cheap tickets, you must see the website.

driving a car is usually faster and more convinient, and alot less cheaper, ive taken train trips and road trip alot further than 200 miles, gas prices would certainly be cheaper than a train ticket

Yeah. Circumstances may vary depending on your origin and destination, but Drive. If you can't Drive, Bus. If you can't Bus, Fly. Train fare is the biggest friggin ripoff--usually about the same as airfare and takes you days instead of hours.

Depends when you're planning to take this trip. As the date approaches, the price of a train fare goes up. So, take that into consideration.

Drive. 200 miles isn't too bad. 3.5 hours. If your car has decent milage, you're fine. Train fare is pricey for some reason this summer.
