Shelties make wonderful family pets! You need to keep them groomed and keep their spirits high for them to show the world why they seem so regal. When you reach to pet your Sheltie (or any dog) you should reach to scratch under his chin. This keeps the dog’s head up when meeting new people. Be advised that Shelties tend to bond tighter with one person in the family than with the others. Practically speaking, this means that if it comes down to choosing sides between two family members, the Sheltie will choose one over the other based on the level of bonding. Shelties also make great pets for younger children. Shelties herd by nature and once you establish their boundaries, they will sit for hours and watch the kids. If the kids try to leave the boundaries, the Sheltie immediately reacts and herds them back within the established play area.
Keeping Shelties well groomed is very important. Besides keeping their coat clean and free of tangles, brushing allows you to bond with the animal. We never had any health issues with our Shelties; but definitely spend some time researching the Internet to check on any specific needs as far as your geographic location is concerned. We took ours with us to Germany from Alabama and I still laugh when I recall the first time they saw snow. Both Shelties put their snouts on the ground and plowed the snow making these snowballs in front of their noses. They played like that for hours.

They can be shy so they need lots of socialization. Lots of coat care is required as well and they can be terrible barkers!
There will be a lot of info on the Shetland Sheepdog Club of America website.

Sorry if i have ignored this yet your question develop into rather confusing to study with none paragraphs in it, yet have you ever taken your canines to a vet, or phoned a vet? I take exhilaration in it is the middle of the evening and likely, evidently she ought to correctly be pregnant yet i'm no longer optimistic the vomiting is regular and that i'm really no longer optimistic you need to be feeding her ice cream each and every 4 hours! Why are you giving her ice cream? also, how previous are you (in case you do not ideas me asking) and why are you on your own without a telephone? What if there develop into an emergency? Plus i'm sorry, yet no longer being waiting to arise with the money for a vet is not any excuse once you've a canines, it is area of being a accountable canines proprietor. in case you've been ill, ought to your mum make you wait per week previously taking you to the well-being center? you choose to attempt to get to a telephone (do you've neighbours?) to telephone your moms and dads and then the vet as i don't think of you need to be coping with this on my own. And after this, besides the reality that that is - whelping or no longer - then your mom ought to somewhat get the dogs neutered. sturdy success!

THEY BARK!!! And thay bark a lot!!!!!!!! If you have neighbors, be careful!!!
They can also be VERY nervous!!!!!!
They are prone to many eye problems and due to the elongated shape of the muzzle, they need the teeth brushed. Otherwise they get a nasty food build up on the back teeth and will have gum disease later and need dentals.
