I also looked at the CS6000, 6000t, and 6000i, I read some bad reviews about the 6000i, and am not sure about it. I don't really need an industrial machine, I am an average sewer that wants to sew dresses and maybe curtains and kids clothes. It doesn't need to sew through tons of heavy fabric layers, but should be sturdy enough to sew and last for a while.

Brother CS 100 T I can not recommend. I would go with a nice singer. go to www.ebay.com check out the sewing machines , lots of great deals , and do not buy a brothers machine , they just do not have the power and you will not be happy. I prefer a Singer 281-1 Straight Stitch Industrial Sewing Machine , never let me down . you can pick on up on ebay for less then $100. and end up with a machine that can sew everything from silk to 5 layers of blue jean material.

Below is a link to brother sewing machine reviews. There are 9 reviews listed here (#'s 3 to 12).

The majority of comments are positive, but there is mention that some need additional lighting beside the machine, as well as concerns about the stability of the extension table. At least one reader has worries about the life cycle of the machine after 7 months, which worries me personally.

Hope these help!

I own seven machines, Brother,Singer, White, Pfaf, Universal and International from one year old to 100+ years old.
My grandmother was a tailor and left me a few.
I have the Brother CS 6000 I use mainly.
It is a little sweetheart.
I used it to do Halloween costumes in satin, cotton and sequined and beaded fabrics and Christmas coats in thick Fleece for seven grandchildren and it just helped me make a satin bed throw.
It's under $200 at Wal Mart. It is new in the box with a warranty and a return policy.
