Nope. Because the argument is "Does God exist?" Saying I don't know simply turns them into agnostics, which is simply a refusal position to solve the argument. The argument is not solved, just that that debaters back off.

Probably, but atheists don't usually say they don't know. I was having a private conversation with an atheist and he brought up Hell. He said Hell doesn't exist for certain, that Hell is a myth. I told him I don't believe in a literal Hell, but I'd like to see his reasoning. He said his proof would be a thesis. I asked him whether he would simply accept on my say-so that I could construct a thesis length proof of God's existence. The atheist lapsed into utter irrationality.
Now come on, atheists. If you are going to say "I can prove it but the proof is too long to type" then theists can use the same argument.

it depends on which argument.
yes, the argument over whether or not god created the universe could and SHOULD be resolved with "we don't know".
no, all of the other arguments require better answers than "we don't know" due to the fact that one side seems more reasonable and likely than the other.
