Our Forefathers were dilligant Bible Believers and respected their God the Holy Creator. They made our government with Christain principals. Everything has gone to hell since they took prayer out of school. Our country has really suffered from ungrateful irreligious demon possesed parasites whom live in this great land that God established. They do nothing but back stab the USA. They even get welfare and live off the government. When they took on thier American Citizenship they vowed and said the pledged of alligence but they lied. It's like the enemy from within. Why can't they go back to their 3rd world country? Instead of turning ours into the crap hole they came from. I work 2 jobs and I do not complain about the government. IT USED TO BE "ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY!" Now we have illegal immigrants demanding rights as if they were tax payers like we owe it to them-Something is WRONG with the mentality of People. Love USA or get out

The Puritans on the May Flower were Christians and so were the Spanish as in Christopher Columbus. People were not coming to a new land to escape religion but taxes and their oppressive governments but mostly POVERTY. Were did you Q participants go to school? All the frame work for USA is Christian that's why banks are closed on Sunday! (For the most part) Please note I LOVE Hispanic people. But I am not for illegal activity. IT IS LIKE if I walked into a strangers house illegally and spent the night, in secret, in the spare room and then the next morning woke up and demanded breakfast. Then marched around protesting and insisting that your groceries fill my belly! IT IS rude, illegal and plain old unthinkable. Please do not be angry at me but it is time America cleans up it's insides and purges itself from anymore unruly, rule breaking, ungrateful people. Canada was smart enough to expell ALL of it's illegal immigrants just a short time ago. The word is ILLEGAL, not foreigner.

Sure they were Christian but they had sense enough to realize that we needed separation of state and government. They learned this from our experiences with England/Britain.
The forefathers made mistakes that had to be corrected with progression, as we have done.

You know what you need to go read a real history book and not what your preachers tell you. This country was founded on the freedom of religion not as a Christian country! Freedom to be what every you want with NO interference from any person, government or church. The original settlers came here to get away from that and by the way Thomas Jefferson was not a Bible believer and neither was Ben Franklin. And if you are or think you are a true Christian then where is your love and compassion??? You are not the only person working two jobs. There are too many to count and that has nothing to do with the immigrants! That has to do with the companies making obscene profits, and the management people getting Golden Umbrellas that would support a third world country. Please go study, learn, read the Constitution and the Bill of /Rights. Don't listen to other people but decide for yourself. I probably love this country more then you do, because when love is not blind it doesn't change the love, it just makes it stronger.

Even the Founding fathers were smart enough not to let the Church dictate how the government is run Every time you get religious zealots running thing there are all sorts of problems The Middle East is a prime example of this. The biggest problem this country has right now is GEORGE W> BUSH and all the other politicians that follow him like a flock of mindless sheep. It is about time WE THE PEOPLE take back our country from these lying Scum-bags that are only concerned with lining their own pockets at everyone Else's expense

I know cut and paste is annoying, but...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
-The First Amendment to the Constitution-
"Deism was championed by Enlightenment thinkers such as Voltaire and some, but by no means a majority, of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin are among the most well-known of the American founding deists. There is debate as to whether George Washington was a deist or not.Thomas Paine published The Age of Reason, a treatise that helped to popularize deism throughout America and Europe. Paine wrote that deism represented the application of reason to religion. Deists like Paine hoped to settle religious questions permanently and scientifically by reason alone, without revelation."

That's the same kind of fundamentalist thinking that makes things like the Taliban so scary, "Think the way we think or get out." That's just one step away from "Get our or we'll kill you" This country is founded on freedom, not Christianity, freedom of religion and freedom to question the government. Unless you are a Native American (which I highly doubt given your borderline prejudice tirade solid WASPy faith in Jesus) Your ancestors were immigrants too, looking for a better life.

You are a sad brainwashed individual who is anti-American. Please, take your anti-American stance somewhere else. It is not a Christian USA any more than it is a Jewish USA, a Muslim USA, or a Wiccan USA.
So no Christians are on welfare? No illegal immigrants are Christians?
Simply because you do not understand the government enough to complain about it does not mean that the rest of us should be so oblivious. Please, keep your inanity to your cult friends - true Americans find it hateful and offensive.

America was not founded on a Theocracy, it was founded by people trying to escape Theocracies,, Christian should not seek, power over others, our constitution wisely put in separation of church and state,, The Kingdom of God has been confused with The kingdom of The World,,,,,,,, JFK was a Catholic, not a Fiscal Conservative

You are lying or ignorant. Our founding fathers, Washington/Jefferson/Franklin, were NOT Christians. And, religious pilgrims who immigrated here came to ESCAPE the religious tyrannies of their homelands. I doubt that the more sensible among them had it in mind to create a new religious tyranny in the New World. And, the first people who immigrated here from Europe were sent by financiers who were in search of gold and riches, not for any religious goal whatsoever. And, one of the first official social agreements that the pilgrims made was the "Mayflower Compact", one of humanity's first agreements ever to protect the rights of people of different faiths to live together in peace without fear of your kind. And, "In God We Trust" was not added to our society until 1954. This nation, dear Christian, was founded upon one of the greatest visions mankind has ever mustered. This nation is about DEMOCRACY, not your pet religion or the next guy's pet religion. The United States of America is about a grand and common foundation for people of all faiths and beliefs to live together in peace and security from tyranny, tyranny such as your declaration above that people had better believe like you do or get out. My dear Christian, if anyone should leave this country it's people like you who do not abide by this nation's most fundamental principle of "We, The People". Abide by our principles, or, YOU get out. Keyword "Democracy" and learn about what this nation is really about. And, please get rational. Magical-thinking is destroying our world. Any "faith" that is based on so many twisted lies and conceit and misconceptions is not a spirituality, but a fetish. Jesus would puke at your intolerance and narrow-mindedness.

I thought America was 'the land of the free' and 'the land of opportunities' and all that. Apparently not though judging by the way most (but not all) Americans treat anyone who disagrees with them, comes from a different country or has different beliefs.

While I tend to agree with your view, you sound as bad as the Christian haters on these boards. Not everyone that does not believe in "Christian America" back stabs it or lives on welfare. All you have done with this post is prove what many atheists here believe, that Christians are hypocrites instead of forwarding your cause.
