I would like to be able to take screenshots that I can send to my contacts when I am on a page that I would like them to see, but I have no idea what free program I can download to do this. Maybe there is no free software, but worth a try asking.

If you use Windows, simply press and hold the "Prt Sc" key, and then paste (Ctrl + V) the screen shot into whatever you want. On some computers, you may need to hold the Fn key down while you press the Prt Sc key.

Is that free enough? :P

Good luck!

As far as I know, no program is needed. All you need to do is hit the Print Screen button on your key board. Then open up your paint program and hit "shift insert". Once your page is open, Save As...then you are good to go.

you have everything you need. see the 'Prnt Scrn' button on your keyboard? press it!

then open up start > programs > accessories > paint and choose edit then paste.

save that file as a .jpg and you can email it to a friend.

of course there is also free software that expands on this:

shift + printscreen takes a snapshot of your display. I think alt+printscreen takes a snapshot of the current application. You can then open paint or word and paste it there.
