Don't you find it annoying that you have to drive for like 20 minutes to find what you call a Beer Store?
What's up with that? We visited Peterborough and had to go like 1/2 an hour to a beer store to get some beer. How sad is the fact that you don't serve beer in local stores?

Depends on where you are. Peterborough is a small town so it only has one or two beer stores and probably only one liquor store.

As for finding it annoying - well, that's we all grew up with for the most part so we're used to it. It's never bothered me all that much because I've lived in big cities where a 5-10 minute walk will bring me to the closest liquor store.

Besides, having provincially run liquor and beer stores is the only thing keeping our provincial goverment running. The government department in charge of the liquor and beer stores has been a self sustaining business since it's conception and adds millions to our government's budget every year. None of the other departments can say that and they'll never be able to.

Well since our beer is alot more potent its a good idea not to sell in in every store because there would probably be americans lying passed out all over the place LOL PS we have a variety store with an license to sell alcohol and beer and it is only 10 minutes away from our Beer store and our LCBO...In fact there are 3 places where I can get booze all within less than 10 miutes from where I live...If you dont like driving so far to a beer store next time choose a place to stay closer to one.

Also it isnt sad that we dont sell beer in our local store because it is a drug...and the sale of it needs to be regulated. If we sold it at every store more kids would be able to get it because not all local store owners are as scrupulous as people who actually require a license to sell it and can be severely fined if they sell it to minors.

Peterborough isn't exactly a booming metropolis. I have 4 LCBO's and 2 Beer Stores within a 5 minute drive of my place.

I don't have to drive 20 minutes to find a Beer Store. There's a half-dozen of them less than five minutes from where I'm sitting right now.

You can't apply your experience to all of Ontario.

I grew up in Dublin, where corner shops and supermarkets sold beer and wine, I found the idea of Beer and Liquor stores very strange when I first got to Ontario, but now I'm used to it, and I don't mind at all.

I assume you are from the USA so actually I think it's really sad that your country won't even let you by beer until you're 21 yet they can taunt you at every corner store.

Ohhh...I get it, you got lost and passed 2 or 3 before you clued in.
Next time, try driving with your eyes open, they're everywhere and never more than a 15 minute drive, even in the boonies.
