Can your parents find out if you have had sex?

my friend called me and asked this because she did and now she is so scared if they find out because she is only 13!

I would say the most important issue here is to talk with your friend about the stress she is feeling. She seems to be rather uphappy with her decision to have sex and may need support to know that even if she made a decision she is unhappy with, she can choose to hold off sex again until she is ready! Her parents could take her for a medical exam that could perhaps tell if she has a ruptured hymen, this is not an easy thing however (a ruptured hyman does NOT always mean she had sex) and I really doubt her parents would ever do something that intrusive. They may be able to tell just by her behavior however, so again I would suggest she talk through this and begin to realize that next time waiting is prob. the better choice!

Not only can they find out, they need to find out. No one should be having sex at the age of thirteen. Your friend should be enjoying her childhood and not trying to grow up too fast. Her innocence is now forever lost and her parents need to know so they can help her through this trauma. What your friend did was dangerous to her physical health and mental well being. The best thing you can do for her is to tell her parents yourself. This is not the best thing you can do for your friendship, but your friend's health and well being are more important than your friendship. May God bless and keep you both.

It's not like parents are psychic. They can't necessarily look at you and just KNOW you've had sex.

That's not to say, however, that they can't find out. There's a ton of ways that can happen so I won't even go into it all.

By the way, no one should be having sex at 13.

No there is no way to find out if you are still a virgin or not. Technically they say you can tell by if the hymen is still intact but the hymen can be broken other ways. But your friend is a little young to be having sex. But if she is going to anyway..she needs to protect herself. Either by using condoms or get on birth control. Because her parents will definetely know she is having sex if she ends up pregnant. You can go to either a Planned Parenthood or the local health department and get a free exam and they will give her free birth control and they won't tell her parents.

It's not like they can look at her and tell. Research your state or province's laws about the medical treatment of a minor; some places require a parent or guardian to be notified if she goes on prescribed birth control or goes to the gyno for an exam (which every woman SHOULD do once she's sexually active) but most do not, especially if you're in the US because of the new "patients' rights" laws.

Tell your friend that she is stupid for having sex. She is way too young. Plus tell her that she should not get you involved, cause it will only lead to trouble for you too. And if her parents find out you knew and didn't say anything they might get mad at you too.

If her parents have a reason to think she has had sex, then yes there are ways for them to find out. All it takes is a simple doctor's visit, and a pelvic exam. From there the doctors can determine if her hyman has been broken.

WOW! SHE IS SUPER YOUNG! I hope she dnt regret that in the future but, yea especially cus of her young age shes gonna go through some physical changes n she will bleed alot! Oh yes they can find out especially, if your friend gets pregnant. If she gets pregnant things will only get worse and your friend is only 13 years old.
