Why does it sometimes feel like your sleep was very fast when it was really hours long?

Because time does not really exist! It is a man-made idea that has a strong hold on the minds of people today. The past and the future don't exist, we can 'think' about them, but only in our minds in the present moment (the now).
When you are sleeping, and dreaming, your mind is just rehashing old thoughts, blending them together and creating marvelous worlds out of things you have thought about or experienced in the past. In this state, you are truly out of time, living moment to moment. That can make what we call a sec, feel like a day, or make what we call an hour, feel like a sec.
The cool part is, this can happen while we are awake too!
