My bf constantly has a cigarrette in his mouth. Its the first thing he does when he wakes up and the last things he does when he goes to bed. First thing he does when we are out of the car is light a cig, if he doesnt have one in the car.
I dont get it.
When he has no cigs he is a major cunnt.
What makes ppl "need" a cig?
Its like so irritating.

As god is my witness I willl never date a smoker again.
I can see how they try to quit when they buy a pack a day...yeah right.

Hello! It's called an addiction. If you don't like smokers, why are you dating one?

If you took some time to do a little research on addiction you might be able to put this together. If you are addicted to chocolate, or sugar or coke or icecream, this is sort of like it but not near as addictive. Try giving up sugar and see how it makes you feel. If you can't deal with the smoke get a new boyfriend that doesn't smoke. Otherwise you will turn into a nag that he don't want to be around anyway. Making each other miserable is not a good way to live your life. Don't ask him to quit either, people only quit things if they want to.

I guess you have never smoked. It is like anything else. You can get by without it, but you would rather have it. Some people are smoking machines. I know some of them 3 packs a day and keep going for 45 or more years. I found my way out and that was money. I did not want to pay for them anymore so I quit.
I understand the need, and the want. I just try to get my friends to slow down or quit. I was a nurse and had a cancer paitent on the day he died ask for a cigarette.

I am a smoker & my husband I smoke a pack aday he smokes 3. He does the exact same thing your BF does. First thing and last thing of the day. I would rather my husband be addicted to nicatine than to booze, crack, or pot or some other drug. Lets say that you are addicted to sex lets see you go without for the rest of your life or maybe you love chocolate try going without. Instead of seeing the negitive try seeing the good stuff. Like maybe he dont hit you or call you names. Maybe he makes you feel like you are important. You are going to have to over look some bad qualitys in people, i am sure you are not perfect. Maybe just maybe he hasnt had the right influence to quit yet.

Rollin eyes a bit. Yer selling many short if they're automatically disqualified for smoking, regardless of who the person is. Irritation aside, it's a matter of courtesy. Myself, even in my own car, or my own home; I will not smoke if there's a non smoker present. I honestly envy ya for not understanding smokers. Never smokin's cool of ya, but does leave ya fortunate in that ya don't understand how addictive it is, and how hard to quit. Most smokers'll agree that it's such an ingrained habit, that they're often not even aware that they've lit up another smoke.

Your boyfriend is an addict. His drug of choice is nicotine. If he doesn't want to stop there's nothing you can do or say that will make him. You have 4 choices...1)tell him either the cigs go or you go.....2)you make him leave the house when he smokes....3)stop complaining...4)get a non-smoking boyfriend

I am an ex-smoker. I quit 6 years ago. It took me about two years before I could completely quit. It is an addiction I think quitting was one of the most difficult things I have ever done!

I'm a smoker, but try NOT to smoke around non-smokers. It's rude. Nicotine is VERY addictive, it's hard to explain, but there are alternatives. The patch, nicotine gum...see if he will try to quit for you and for his own health. I been a smoker for 16 years, if I could quit, I would. It's a terrible habit. Good luck hun.

Basically, it's an addiction. Also, people smoke at certain times more than other times (first awake, on the phone, right out of the car or store, etc). I just becomes a habit. If you do something long enough, you just do it without thinking.
