If you have proof, that is, absolute proof (a picture of them doing it, a sworn statement by multiple witnesses, etc) that the person, or they, did it... then technically yes.
Assault
Attempted Assault
Harassment
Property Damage
Disorderly Conduct
These are all things that, depending on the laws of your particular state and city, could be brought against the person(s) that did it. The fact is though, that more than likely this would end up a civil matter, and the cost of taking them to court would be far more than it's probably worth to you... but good luck either way.

OK... firstly we complain that the Police are too busy working on trivial matters like stolen dustbins or eggs being thrown at cars... seriously what damage can an egg really have....
Then we complain that the Police don't do anything about the stolen dustbins and the eggs that are thrown at our cars....
Best advice... keep a dozen eggs handy in the car to defend yourself in the future against other egg throwers... avoid pedestrians though as that is assualt with a deadly eggpon.
Get over it, move on and leave the police to deal with other matters like cleaning up our streets and tending to the little thugs that make our lives a misery.

if you have a witness its dumping to toss anything out of a car and dumping is about 500. dollars fine for the first offense and vandalisim is a misdemeaner worth about 500 fine and sometimes 30 days in jail and go to the prosecutors office and talk to them about charges and they can send a complaint letter to the idiot or help you make a case make a serious police report and get a report number and then if they and the prosecutor wont help then go to the clerk of courts and swear a warrant against the person fill out the form and pay the fee the 50 dollars is refunded after they pick up the person and then when you see the person call the sherrifs dept and tell them to pick him up on a warrant do it on friday night they will stay in jail for the weekend at least

Yep. Back in my high school days, it was fashionable among friends to throw eggs, salad fixings, condiments and the like at another friend's moving vehicle (thank goodness fashions change). After one such foray, an officer pulled over a friend of mine for nailing my vehicle with eggs, and asked if I wanted to press charges. Even though I declined, the friend still had to make a court appearance before the judge laughed it off.

Unfortunately, you probably have to have an accident that causes you or someone else bodily harm or does a large dollar amount of damages to someone's property. Every State is different, so you may want to call your local PD & ask to speak to the Watch Commander for more info & advice. I would think this should at least fall under the category of "malicious mischief", then it could go up to manslaughter if someone gets killed by these morons! I wish you luck & please don't throw the eggs back at them, cuz you could get caught up & end up in jail !

If those eggs hit you in the USA, it is labeled assault. If you weren't able to get a license plate number or positive id on anyone, your luck has gone bad sweetie. I am sorry. If you know who the people are, I would just lay in wait and egg their azzes back! LOL! I know this answer didn't help but hey, it was worth a try! :)
Would you care to divulge your occupation? It may make this question totally and completely way gnarly interesting! LOl!

This was probably a misdemeanor which mean a police officer has to witness the egg throwing. In most cities you can file charges before a magistrate.

Well was he throwing the eggs AT YOU? And did he hit you? And was it all intentional. If it was intentional, then he has committed littering, vandalism, and assault, or maybe attempted assault if it didn't hit you. Also, if he keeps doing it day after day, it could be stalking, like you said, he was following you. You said something about your job, so what about your job that made him throw eggs at you? But I don't see why he can't be charged.
What city/state do you live in? Maybe the laws are different from my state.

The charge in my state is malicious mischeif. It's a C misdemeanor, usually punishable by a fine and any property damages under $500.00. Over that amount and it goes to another charge. The police will usually have to catch them for the charge to stick, or have something that positively identifies them.
