This is in response to the most ridiculous question I ever saw. A kid too the most insane unrelated points, and said it was sciences fault. I know my question is bad, but not as bad as his, because I threw some true things in there.

POINT BEING, KEEP IT RELAVANT, AND SCIENCE IS NOT EVIL, BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR SHOES, OR ANY OTHER THING LIKE THAT. SCIENCE IS GOOD, AND HELPS. RELIGION HAS DONE WORSE.

2006-07-31 12:45:21 · update #2

I am saying this kid took thing like reason and insulted them like they were bad. It was so unrelated. He called science evil for curing diseases.

I am being attacked. I am not even saying religion is bad. I am responding to a question too ridiculous to answer. Some of you got it, and it was not hard. To realize the point you had to read the whole thing.

This was not serious. You missed the point. I am actually scared that you took it seriously, but thanks for answering.

Ok kid, you answered. Good. Your question was too ridiculous for me to even make a point against. Many of your answers are wrong. I will adress some. Christians do kill, they just repent. Your question said "Why do people in third world nations suffer from diseases if science can cure them". Who do you see any of it as logical. I will just answer the part mentioned. If we make a cure, it does not mean it got rid of the disease for everyone. You have to get treatment. Science has nothing to do with getting the cures out. Christians in the red cross type of thing should do that, so they are to blame. Point is, you asked a question too insane, unrelated, ilogical, etc to answer.

Okay here we go.

1) In Christianity, this world belongs to Satan since the fall of Adam and Eve, therefore pain and suffering and misery exist. God occasionally intervenes on the individual level according to his plans for that individual but is still holding a great deal of the misery we could be facing as a planet back. So bad events and misery only support the Biblical explanation of the nature of the world.

2) Christianity instructs followers to treat their body like a temple. So such actions as junkfood and smoking really arent promoted but are part of human nature and appetite.

3) Jewelry is called adornment by Christianity and is biblically opposed.

4) Christ never said not be reasonable. You should have only the kids you feel you can support. Christianity doesnt teach to be rabbits. Thats mormonism

5) Actually the Catholic church and popes launched crusades and inqusitions - none of which are in harmony with the teachings of Christ. It was more for land and power than anything else. You must know that hte Holy roman empire was as much a nation as Germany and Italy and Russia and had its own political ambitions - just dressed up as God's will.

6) As a protestant, I agree about how shameful the Catholic church as wasted money on fancy Cathedrals and such. God said to give what you have and only a small percent of it. No where does the bible teach that you will go to hell if you dont give however.

7) Most of the worlds hospitals, relief agencies, shelters, community support programs have a religious origin. Many Christians who opposed the civil war still placed their lives in danger to help victims on both sides. Much of the great art and architecture and scienfitic breakthroughs were done by men of strong faiths. And I hear those founding fathers who created that Constitution thing, along with the majority of our great presidents were religious men.

8) Christians dont kill. Thats you mistake. Christ teaches that his followers are not to kill. He also teaches that many people who claim to follow him do actions which is opposite of what he teaches. In other words, if someone says they are a math teacher, and goes out teaching that 2 + 2 = 5, they are not really a math teacher after all. Salvation is open to everyone. God gives everyone a choice. How much more fair is that. If God forced everyone to be saved would tthat be justice and love.

9) Jesus died for everyone to be saved. And everyone can be saved if they follow him. Once again its a choice. Jesus died to give men a choice.

10) lol...whats wrong with pancakes.

I think you could have made your point much earlier in the list of nonsense...I'm a Christian, and I value science. I recognize that religion isn't perfect, but neither is science. I don't see it as a question of either/or.
Religion has done a lot of good too. Food banks, soup kitchens, peace workers, homeless shelters, justice advocates. Not all Christians or churches emphasize hell, hatred and bigotry either. People of faith work all over the world for peace and justice.
Religion and science are not antithetical.

I don't know who says this world is great because of religion. hahahahhahaa

I can tell you how bad and corrupt it is. There is NOTHING in this world great. God Himself says: this is not a world of love. Love nothing of it or about it.

It will become Great, when Christ returns. Other than that, this is a place of trash.

If it were not for what we know as science medicine, we would all be dead. You think God let this happen for no reason?

I don't think religion is great. Religion just means rituals. Jesus is Great! Having faith in God has healed millions of people and has transformed many lives. And faith has saved millions of souls from an eternal hell. Faith is Great! "Without faith it's impossible to please God."

#3) I agree the cross is not about jewelry! it's about Jesus!
#4) Married people shouldn't.
#5) it can't
#6) that's wrong.
#8) It's saves you from going to hell, not earthly things.
#9) YES!
The rest I either answered or don't understand.

God has told his people how to live through his 10 commandments. if they choose not live the way that God has laid out for us, then it is their own undoing. and what the heck do airplanes, junk food, jewlery, and foot disorders have to do with religion? religion gives people hope in time of crisis and a place to turn to when they are troubled. it is your own fault that you don't belive in God and i have pitty on you.

and by the way, churches, at least not cathiloc churches, do not collect money only for the poor. the collections that churches take in are for maintaining the church and also for paying to feed the poor. i resent the fact that you have the gall to go and bad mouth the church like this.
