Why do some people want everyone to think the same way? What if we all drove the same car? What if the tests in school never changed form grade six to grade twelve? Why can't diversity be a good thing? I shudder to think of a world where every single person thought the same way, there would be no progress!

i think different things are mildly amuseing but it's also very important that everyone learn to think like me. the world would be so much better off and people would really get along, but first, they must be made to think like me.
and to act the way i want them to. this is for my good; and indirectly, for the good of the world. if it doesn't happen that i rule everyone in the world in this incarnation, it will just happen in the next. so it makes logical sense that i should rule the world, subjegate it's inhabitants and that they should do my will just to return the favor.
and i promise to make the ice cream trucks run on time.

Diversity is all well and good....investing your life in two thousand-year old texts that insist they were written by the creator of the universe and further encourage followers to kill or punish disbelievers...those are some ways of thinking that SHOULDN'T be tolerated.

Tolerance is fine, but it isn't a suicide pact. People who have the idea that freedom of thought needs to be eradicated (religious fundamentalists, for example) need to be very carefully watched, and occasionally chucked in prison.
