I don't look at typos nor make fun of people who have them. One, we are human therefore imperfect. If someone has some misspelled words the world is not going to come crashing down. Second, not everyone here uses English for a first language and therefore tries to spell phonetically. I think it is great when someone wants to learn, read, write and converse in a new language and I certainly won't take a swipe at them for a few misspellings.

Exactly what Phil said......as someone who does editing it really sticks out. Sometimes the typo is a crucial piece of info and then the question is lost because no one is really sure what they're saying! It drives me crazy, but I don't comment on it I just answer the question. Since we're talking about it however, would it hurt some of you to press the spell check button every once in awhile?! lol

For me, sloppy spelling and grammar are just one more symptom of the abysmal intellectual level here. What annoys me even more is the smug ignorance of people of all ideological persuasions: they pontificate without ever having acquainted themselves with the best arguments that the other side has to offer.

And there's a "check spelling" button for God's sake.

They also forgot the "e". They didn't really seem to be asking a question anyway. Just mocking what they don't understand(ignorance!). By the way, the apostrophe wasn't misplace it was omitted all together.

No, I find it annoying when I forget to use the spell checker and end up making myself look the moron, moron. What is your point, except that you don't seem able to learn from your own mistakes?

Try to take some time to quickly read over what you have written. It helps and my advice is just ignore them as best as you can.

A word to the wise, don't be so quick to mock others because when you fall, many will be there to mock you too.

I haven't seen anyone yet pick on someone for minor typos. I see it for people who obviously haven't gotten past 3rd grade Spelling/English and try and tell someone else they're dumb.

It can be stupid, but sometimes the typo negates the meaning of the question. In that case it's valid.

It's very petty, I agree. The users doing that can also be reported under "Not a question or answer," or if they do it repeatedly (look at their answers on their profile, "gaming for points."

It doesn't bother me because I seldom make typographical errors in my writing. I use a spell check and try to double-check my reply before its submission.
