I've never heard of Joseph Smith, but I'll check...
The circle is an ancient and universal symbol of perfection. In a public discourse, Joseph Smith once used a ring as an image of eternity, "one eternal round," without beginning or end
(TPJS, p. 354). The formation of the prayer circle suggests wholeness and eternity, and the participants, having affirmed that they bear no negative feelings toward other members of the circle (cf. Matt. 5:23-24), evoke communal harmony in collective prayer-a harmony underscored by the linked formation, uniformity of dress, and the unison repetition of the words of the leader. The prayer has no set text, but is, among other things, an occasion for seeking the Lord's blessing upon those with particular needs whose names have been submitted for collective entreaty.

My understanding is the ring is based on a design by Joseph Smith with the circle representing eternity since it has no beginning or end. They are used as wedding rings to focus on the eternal commitment of love.
Comment: Description of Joseph Smith Ring Mens Silver :
The Prophet Joseph Smith was known to wear a "gold finger ring." He has been painted wearing this ring, and it has become a symbol of his eternal nature, as well of each of our own. The Joseph Smith Ring is a replica of this, is available in a Mens and Womens design.

I have never heard of a Jooseph Smith Eternity Ring- You will need to elaborate.
For those who are wondering- Joseph smith lived in the 1800's. He restored the ancient church of Jesus Christ in 1833. That church is now known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - aka the Mormons. Joseph is the first Modern day prophet of the church. If you would like more info on him- the best place to start is www.LDS.org

Never heard of that ring.
Mormons have CTR Rings. This means Choose the Right.
Mormons have Return with Honor Rings. These are for missionaries to remind them that they are always in the Lord's service and must act the part with honor.
Mormons have weddings rings. Mormon weddings are different from Christian weddings in that the final words are not "til death do you part". They are "for time and all eternity." Mormon marriages in a Mormon temple are considered to be sealed on earth and heaven and are to last for eternity.

Jo originated the Mormons after getting the boot from the Masons.
I would expect it is a ring indicating the wearer is now a Temple Mormon.

Never heard of such a thing unless it is a symbol for his and Emma's sealing in the temple.
Use caution when reading information about Mormonism from those who write from a bigoted or ex-communicated stand-point. When in doubt, log on to lds.org or call the bishop at the nearest LDS church.

I wear one. To me it represents the eternal nature of man. If you don't believe in eternity, just wait!
