I am very slim and it is quite difficult for me to build muscle.....I have an "ectomorph" body and I would like to know if there are any work outs and/or diets I can do in order to thicken up a little bit....particularly in the hips and but and thighs. I know I cannot change my body to look more hourglass like since I am genetically inclined to be thin and rectangular in shape....but if there is any way I could just get a little thicker please let me know.

I swear by biking, walking uphill (on treadmill or actual hill)...it builds your butt up and gives you shapely legs (Basically any leg and glute exercise). Pilates will make your body look amazing no matter what. I am tall and thin as well...I fought genetics to be the only person on both sides of my family to have a rear end.

I know how you feel, being rectangular and all, but also be happy that you don't have to worry about your weight.

You could try to go on a bulk building weight routine, but I'm not sure you'd enjoy the program you'd need to follow. I was a "hard" gainer, too, and adding mass was a real pain - all over! But it can be done.
