At what age will you decide to get a haircut?

Let me tell you something it takes a real person to be a christian. It takes guts because we live in a society that is against Christianity from the get go. And by the way, I'm a christian and I handle real life just fine. I'm no saint but I can stand on my own two feet. I've been a christian all my life. If I was you I would get my foot out of my mouth so I could actually get a rational thought in my head.

I perhaps cannot answer the question because I am not a Christian and never even thought of becoming one despite at times thoroughly disillusioned while facing life. I would even never think of this. It wold be just running away from life. I believe that Christ never wanted you to do that as his very life and final sacrifice shows. He must really have been frustruated by the lack of response he got to his sincere teaching in that atmosphere . His possible crucifixation would not have been hidden from his mind and yet he perssted with what he felt was the real truth. While he would welcome all those who came to him for succour he would never have liked anybody who sought refuge with him in a defeatist mental condition. He would have felt that the continuation of the struggle fof life relentlessly would have been a real christian action.Yes I took inspiraion from Jesus but I never even thought of putting cross round my neck. Do you know Mahatma Gandhi was no Christian but a devout Hindu. And yet aneminent Christian Missioary from the West has unreseredly certified him as the Greatest Living Christian on Earth..Christians are not made by baptism and wearing the cross alone.

Hmmm...by not handle real life I assume you mean at what age did you decide not to blur lifes problems and meaning away with alcohol, drugs, random sex, and intellectual arrogance to achieve a god like feeling about oneself.

Actually being a Christian is 100 times harder than not being a Christian. Being an atheist or agnostic is easy. The world is set up for you. You can even do Christmas without ever seeing a bible or hearing about Christ. Your world of me me me and money money money and material goods and living for today only is promoted on every medium and in every country there is.

And since when did Christianity stop being about real life, Christian principles apply to dating and marriage, work ethics, civics, money management, health, interactions with other people, community service,....you know....real life.

Another atheist bites the dust to Christian reason(humming Queen in my head).. Who's next.

At the age of 17, I had just lost my grandfather. A month later my moms store burt down. Before that I had lost one of my best friend in a car accident. And I felt hopeless and felt like I had nothing left. However, once I became a Christian I knew everything would be okay.

Probably at the same age you decided to pretend to not be a christian, but since you're spending so much time in the religious section, you're obviously trying to get us to convince you. Sorry, not my job, if you believe, fine, if you don't fine. So you go right ahead trying to insult christianity, we know exactly what you're doing, the same as many other "athiests", pretending you're so advanced you couldn't possibly believe, all the while hanging out in the religious section hoping we'll give you some proof. The concept of faith is not having proof, so you guys are simply out of luck.

That's a good question
I "became" a christian when I was 29 then I became spiritual at age 31 and still going strong!!!
Don't get me wrong I do believe in a higher power but I don't believe by the "Christian" standards.

I think I was 43 when I realized that life without God was meaningless. Now I have purpose for my life and supernatural power that keeps me free from being a slave to sin. I no longer chase after one thrill after another as the old one becomes boring and I find that I need something else to take it's place. Instead that God shaped hole in my heart has been filled by my blessed Savior and I look forward to eternity in the presence of God where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever more!

I wonder if you will be fortunate enough to escape from the clutches of the "god" of this world who deceives people into thinking that "real life" consists only of the here and now and there won't be a day when you stand before the Almighty Creator of this Universe as your life is unrolled before your eyes and you see why without the payment offered by Jesus you don't really deserve anything else but to be separated from God for all eternity.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

I had a complete (mental, physical, spiritual) break down at around age 28/29. It lasted nearly a year. All my idols got fried. It led me back to God though. I was desperate & could not handle my life at the time. I needed a Saviour. He saved me from this. I was able to sleep soundly again. God gives rest to His children.

To those who have fallen away from christianity (those who acutally were born of God young), Just repent. You'll have to go through the fire, but it is better to go through it now than later.

At 10, I observed the hypocrisy in my church and left "church" Christianity behind. Around that time we were being taught world religions in high school (British -type school system).

I like buddhism a lot better than Christianity. I don't look for God when something goes wrong or right, I look for my part in it and try to figure out how I can become a better person.

I don't believe that anyone who is religious or spiritual is copping out.

cause God is the same myth as the tooth fairy and Santa???

loving God and having faith is a CHOICE.....free will....

get a Bible, read it, make an informed decision....

Im a christian and I still have a real life. Handle my problems, raise a family, have a PhD, buy a house, do all the things people like you do except that I have HOPE, FAITH, HAPPINESS and GOD in my corner.....you seem to not understand that people still have ultimate control of their lives (FREE WILL). Its just that with God on your side you can handle anything...the Bible says that YOU will have hard times, but that He will be there with you through it....

dont you have friends to lean on in rough times??? well so do Christians......
