Give him lots of attention separate from the new cat. Let him have your lap or bed to himself once in a while when the other cat is in the room. Give him treats. How long have you had the new cat? His behavior should improve in a few weeks once he gets used to the new cat. Cats are very territorial, so he might be marking his territory. Maybe keep the new cat in only a few rooms at first.

Good luck.

possibly circulate your litterbox right into a room and get a puppy gate that has a small door sufficiently huge for cats. Or, if your dogs is small and that may not artwork, attempt getting a litterbox with a good looking on it and shop it faraway from the place the dogs many times is or make an area the place it will be the place your dogs isn't allowed. If something the suitable ingredient is to continuously verify and clean your litterbox. there is likewise a supplement i've got considered at puppy shops that announces to quit stool ingesting, i'm assuming this is merely the supplementations and minerals that your dogs feels the want for and fills with the poop. and a few merely like it through fact they are gross. proceed to tell her NO in a comfortable corporation voice, and instruct her the drop it command.

male spraying is hard to stop but as for the scratching i had good luck with these tape strips i bought at petsmart. it is like really big masking tape that they won't scratch on. it costs like 10 dollars for a large amount of strips. i bought it last year and haven't used a half pack yet. they make urine spray deterants as well but i don't know if they work.

You can also buy FELIWAY at the pet store...it comes in both a spray (which you can spray on the spots where he went) and also in a plug-in....it' is supposed to out "happy" feromones in the air that helps cats stay calm and be happy. It might help. (it is a tad pricey though)

Mine does this too - ever since we got a dog. I haven't figured out how to stop him yet. The vet suggested giving him his own space... but all he did was pee around his own space. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
