I have a 1 1/2 year old female pitbull which ive bred but she isnt very nice but she was raised around children bcuz my mom babysits and i have a 2 year old nephew, but theyre are alot of bad black boys in my grade who keep tryin to steal my new puppy ( nothing against black people and im not rascist.. they are actually my friends) but they keep attacked by my grown pit abd they wont give it up. so should i just make her mean like the older one already is so people cant steal her, or should i just say **** it and keep on and breed her? they both have papers and im not a bad person bcuz ive bred her once.( the older one). and i u own a pit where u live most likely if theyre young they gonna b stole and turned mean so what are the chances really. I dont fight dogs im against that truely its just that if theyre gnna b nice they will get stolen and if theyre a lil meaner the chances of them gettin stolen are highlg not likely going to ever happen

Have her spayed, treat her with love and respect DO NOT TRY TO MAKE HER MEAN!
As a matter of fact, SPAY/NEUTER all the dogs you have.
That sounds like the best thing to do.
Love them, treat them kindly, and you will get it in return.

Neither! A dog should be trained to be as docile as possible. A dog will naturally protect the people they love if they have it in them to do so, and they don't need any encouraging.
I don't think that just because your dog is registered or your uncle or whoever is a breeder or whatever that that gives you the "right" as you put it to breed your dogs. There a MILLIONS of Pit Bulls all over the continent who are homeless, starving, unloved, abused, and in need of loving families. I don't care what sounds-good reason you have for breeding them (to preserve breed purity, to show them, for weight pulling, whatever) you are STILL taking homes away from the millions of poor Pits who desperately need to be adopted and loved. Every time you breed your dog and she has a litter of puppies that is (insert number of pups in litter) homes that are taken away from Pits in shelters. That's that many more poor dogs who never did a thing wrong who are sentenced to death because there aren't enough people willing to adopt them.
So I think you should not breed them and you should definately not encourage the new pup to be aggressive even if only to the people trying to stea her. Keep her close and definately don't let them steal her!!!! Poor thing wouldn't be in for a good future if that happened. But think of this, by not breeding her you could be saving other Pits from the same fate yours would meet if those boys stole her.

Your in a hot situation, thank you for writing. First of all you know, or should know that you already have 2 high-intensity dogs there. What is up with this "mean" thing? I wish I could address this to everyone. We don't need to make our dogs mean. What is up with that? Ok, sorry. Number 1 with a "mean dog", what are the chances of him never attacking someone, and a lawsuit taken out against you? Pretty good I would say. Just be there for your dogs, be the pack leader that they need. Be sure you are walking them at least 40 minutes a day. These dogs since you are having issues with the possibility of having them stolen should be in the house when you are there or basically all of the time. Let them out in the yard when you can supervise them. However, you must get them out for a 40 minute walk everyday. You as I have, took on the responsibility of taking care of these dogs, walking them is one of the things we must provide for our dogs. All dogs are made of energy, some more than others, the way for these dogs to use up that energy is to walk. This is what dogs did/do in the wild; they walk to find food/water/shelter, when they find these things that is their reward for walking. Also, why are you going to breed your new pup? Is it because you want to preserve the quality of the breed, or to make money? If you are taking her to the vets for all scheduled check-ups, and follow-up with check-ups after she is bred, and after the pups are born, and supply her with any vitamins, etc, your profit should only be about maybe $150 total. You see, there is no money to be made just by breeding. If your going to breed for that reason, please stop and think, or better yet go to your local dog pound and check out all the dogs that are going to be "put to sleep" because someone wanted puppies, but not the responsibility of taking care of them. Or better yet, check out some sites online where people use Pitts for fighting. It sounds like these boys that are trying to take your pup want to do just that. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking I'm not. Do you know how Pitts are made "mean" for fighting? Punching them when they are young, about your dogs age and younger, pinching, buning, kicking, cigarette burnings, I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. Again, if this is going to be a controlled and for quality breeding, then I wish you the best, but if your doing it for money, I hope you make the right decision and don't do it.

Did you know that RESPONSIBLE breeders will only breed dogs with a good temperament.
YOu are responsible for putting more dangerous dogs into the world. ALso thier chances of ending up in the pound are really high.
Did you know that I dont agree with it, but for these reasons specifically, pit bulls are outlawed in Ontario, Canada. All PIt bull, pure and mixed must be muzzled in public at all times or you can lose your dog.
THe saddest part is that any puppies born are euthanized unless they can deport them from Ontario.
Instead of breeding more pitbulls, you should be encouraging people to adopt them from here.
Thousands of Pit Bull mixes have been turned over because of this by-law and have been euthanized.

It seems you know whats best for you and your dog already. A dog is a man's best friend and shoud be. Baby her to death and everyday your bond with her will grow! Show her you love her and teach her to be gentle please! You don't need anyone getting hurt and have a lawsuit on your hands. You both will be happier and who doesn't want that? You will get so much back in return for raising your pit-bull to be non-agressive. Even if she is nice and sociallized, she will probably still bark at strangers which is good.

I think making a dog mean on purpose is abuse. =/ I'm hoping you didn't beat her or starve her or something to make her mean? I'm not sure what you mean, though. How do you plan to "make her mean?"
I'm totally against beaintg/starving pits because my father gave my pit away because we couldn't afford to keep him and the guy we gave him to wound up chaining him in an empty truck cab with no food or water in 90+ degree weather for weeks. He beat him with shovels and sticks and anything he could get his hands on and then fought him to make money. When my dad found out about this, we took the dog back. We wound up having to put him to sleep because there was no hope for him to turn around. We tried for months, but he still growled at people (not us; new people) and attacked our other pits over food and water.

i am a pitbull breeder snd you should not make this dog mean at all it's bad enough that these dogs have a bad rap.pits are loving dogs if in the right hands but it seems this puppy has fallen in the wrong hands for something to think that this dog should be mean .once they are mean they will turn on you also then what off to the shelter to be put down leave your dog alone as he or she is.

It is always better to train the dog to be well-mannered. A dog with a bad attitude can turn on you just as easily as strangers or mean people. As to the boys trying to steal your dog, ask your parents to talk to them or their parents. If that does not work, ask the advice of the police in regards to the attempted theft of your personal property.

Go for nice, Pitbulls have way to bad of an image that if your dog ever did even the smallest attack, you would get sued and the dog would be put down, no questions asked.

why would you ever want a mean pitbull. it is a great breed for those who socialize them and it should be done within six months so get on it now!! they are smart and sweet and will protect you anyway. don't abuse your dog and slowly kill her by breeding her to fight. when you know she is gentle go ahead and breed her. great dogs and great breed. i agree with the above they are frequently stolen as bait in fights. keep a close eye on your baby. also she will be very strong so train her up.

Definatly make her nice! Pits have a bad enough rep don't make it worse! But you shouldn't breed her. There are enough pitbulls being killed everyday at the pound. People should go and adopt them! I like your choice in breed but the answer is unamimous make her nice.
