As they sacrificed baby sheep, goats, etc. and sprinkled their blood around like a bunch of witches! LOL, yeah, I'm so sure they felt sorry for the animals!!!
just admit the bible was written by primitive men who did disgusting things, killed animals, women, children and babies and didn't even bat an eye. God must be a cruel character if he condones such brutality.
Please read the numerous times in your bible that God himself sent in to rip children to 'shreds", cut open pregnant women, kill all baby boys, etc....... , never mind the animals!

You can't just randomly pick stories out of the bible and take them a literal, it's just ignorant. People lived in a different time back then. You think god condones what we do now? He doesn't and has never gotten invovled. Move along and pretend to be smart else where, thank you.

To JoeC, this is not randomly picking storeies. Jewish people sacrificed animals to appease for sins. This was a regular occurence and is talked about in detail in the OT. It was a very literal and actual occurance and my Jewish freind tells me that there are even some orthodox Jews now that want to rebuild the temple and do blood sacrifices.

Go to hell =]...they obviously sacrificed animals to show they're honor to God. so animals are of importance in the bible. and God does things for a reason, don't you dare insult his work. If he gave us to this world he has EVERY right to take us away, whether we like it or not. If you you're still confused of the bible its called CHURCH. maybe you should take a visit

1) Whatever God does is fair. God can do no wrong.

2)God owes us nothing. He loves out of the freedom of His will and plan, not because of anything in us. He loves because of what is in Him.

3) All people are by nature children of wrath. Since it is only God who is holy and pure and right, and not us, it is perfectly fair that all of us sinners be judged and condemned by God. But, God does not choose to do that. Instead, He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins so that we might be saved.

In the Mosaic Law, God was very explicit on the treatment of animals

Yes, I know what you mean. They didn't because they said it was in the name of the lord, or the lord told me to. But that is where they went wrong. God would never ask someone to do that. He loves everyone and every creature. He wouldn't want them killed. Or to suffer.

well animal sacrifice was GODS command..... as far as the women and babies being killed... it only hurt the people left behind as the dead went home to heaven.... the babies did anyways and the believers did as well
