Definitely not 4 cups of food ... he'd weigh a ton! My English Springer Spaniel gets 2-3 cups of food a day and she is much bigger than a King Charles. You will have to adjust for the individual dog. The amount to be given on the dog food bag is sometimes too much for one dog, but just right for another. Do not overfeed! Are you feeding dry or canned; Science Diet, Iams; Eukanuba or just something from Wal-Mart? Buy good stuff and you will have a healthier dog. I would try feeding your dog about 1 3/4 cups a day and see how that works out. You can cut back or increase if you need to. If you have a puppy, feed it three times a day; an adult dog should be fed twice a day.

So let me get this straight. Your cavalier ate honey, for 1 how can a car eat, 2 it is bad if you put honey in the oil.

Something like that isn't good for dogs. Actually, as any vet will tell you, it is wise NOT to feed your dogs human food. Sure they love it, but it's not made for them. Why do you think there is a thing called dog food. Although you're dog will be fine, be careful, there are some foods that can really harm them. It's wise to feed your dog, dog food and not people food. And if you never start, they won't get use to having it either.
The honey is NOT good for the dog, but it'll be ok, it wasn't enough to hurt it.

No honey is actually good for dogs and is in many dog biscuit recipes, I use it in my homemade cookies all of the time, trust me its OK!!
However do not let him eat just honey...if he likes it so much you should make him some dog cookies with honey...
Chicken and Honey Biscuits
2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 egg
3/4 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup honey
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup cracked wheat
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 ° F (165 ° C).
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add egg, broth, and honey. Gradually blend in the flour and cracked wheat. Add enough wheat flour to form a stiff dough.
Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes). Shape the dough into a ball and roll to 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick. Using bone-shaped cookie cutters, cut out biscuits. Place on ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 1/4-inch (6 mm) apart. Gather up the scraps, roll out again, and cut additional biscuits.
Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool overnight. Makes several dozen biscuits that freeze well.

Honey is absolutely fine for dogs, if memory serves, if a wolf is brave enough to do it he/she will take honey from a hive, it's a natural antbiotic (or at least has some anti-bio properties)
In other words, don't worry your dog will be fine!

If your dog had eaten it to excess I would say yes, but a few teaspoons ain't gonna harm, your dog might go a bit hyper later on with it having sugar in its system, but if that happens take it for a walk to burn its energy up, what a sweetheart it probably just wanted to have what you were having for a change, hope your feeling less worried now.

Your dog should not eat honey on a regular basis, but if it happened accidentally he'll be fine. You'll just see a little burst of extra energy.

Shouldn't hurt him at all. I assume you mean a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
If he starts acting weird, call your vet.
