Poor dog! Time is of the essence! Act as fast as possible! Do you know for sure that it was a poisonous snake?? Did you see the snake? Did you kill it? I heard whenever a person or pet gets bit by a snake, it's best to take the dead body of the snake with you to the emergency room for identification purposes and sometimes in human cases to make an antidote. You need to try to call your vet at home if you can't get ahold of him at the office. If you know your vets last name look up his home number in the white pages and tell him you have an emergency. If you can't get ahold of your vet, look in the yellow pages for emergency pet hospitals and just start calling all the numbers unti you get ahold of someone! In some places you can call 911 for pets too if you can't get ahold of a vet as a very last resort.
Keep him as calm as possible but don't feed him. Good luck!

Call your vet's office, their answering service should have the number of an emergency vet; otherwise, check your phone book and call vets till you find one that will help you. Keep your dog calm it can help save him if the snake is toxic. I hope you killed and kept the snake to identify if it is toxic.

Your vet may have an after hours number or the number to an after hours animal hospital. I would try to see if he may have that on an answering machine, if not, look for emergency animal clinics or hospitals.

Good luck to you and your dog.
