Mr. Misters answer was just ridiculous as he grabbed whatever scripture he wanted and tried to twist it to fit what he wanted.
All you christians take it from the atheist. You will never ever bring anyone to your side by quoting scripture and being abusive. All it does is turn people off. My best christian friends do neither of these things. I don't agree with their choice but I do respect the fact that they live what they believe as they respect me for what I believe. We still talk and they still invite me to their churches from time to time. I don't argue with them about this. I just respectively decline the invitation and we move on to something else.
Just a personal observation. I have seen christians being mean, lying and cheating other people. They seem to feel justified in any of these things because they feel they can get forgiveness from god before they go to sleep at night.

I'm sorry that other Christians have not been respecting your right to your own beliefs.

Part of the problem is that scriptural Christianity and the lives of people here in America tend to differ. At the root of it, Christianity holds that Christ is superior to man; not equal to man (man is a false god; Gen. 3). All men make mistakes; (for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23).
There is a man-made old testament of Genesis-Malachi, and the scriptural old testament; i.e. the law of Moses. (Per scripture, the old testament was done away; Hebrews). The Jews were told to have two or more witnesses (about three times Deut. 10-20), and the Christians were given the same command (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). When this concept is applied, one finds the 'old testament' is the law of Moses. My 'two or more witnesses' for that assertion include Joshua (Joshua 8:31), David (2 Kings 2:3), Solomon (1 Kings 8:9), Nehemiah (Nehemiah 8:1), Daniel (Daniel 9:11-13), Malachi (Malachi 4:4)i, Jesus (Matt. 19:7-9), God the Father (Matt. 17; in effect he backs up whatever Jesus his Son says), and the apostle Paul. (The law is referred to as the old testament (KJV), many other English versions translate it as old covenant in 2 Cor. 3:13-14). Perhaps this is part of why the beast in Revelation 17 is the USA, and the harlot Babylon is the leadership of the USA. (See what happens to the beast and harlot in Revelation 18).
God apparently had me think of this text recently; Acts 18:24-28 (please read) regarding Priscilla, Aquilla, and Apollos. Apparently, Apollos was eager to grow. I hope many Christians in this country presently are in the Apollos category.
A major difference between Catholics and Protestants stems fro the fact that they utilize different Bibles. Speaking personally, I was raised in a “P:rotestant’ congregation. However, after studying for myself, I agree on this component with the Catholic faith. (I disagree with the Catholic faith on other aspects).

Hi Jennatoti,

i'm glad you have great friends who not only speak but show Christ in their lives.

In terms of believers marrying non-believers some of the reasons why God's design is for believers to marry believers is that in their lives God is supposed to be the most important thing. Marriage is about being able to share everything with your spouse- and for the believer God is the most precious thing. i'd be sad if i couldn't share my greatest joys and struggles with my future wife. (currently single- but understand God's design for marriage- from the Bible). Secondly it protects against problems like if you have a believer and an atheist who are married- what happens with the kids in terms of - do they go to church, do they not? The parents can fight- but the kids suffer greatly because of that, and side with mommy or daddy instead of having the libety to really search the truth for themselves. i've had a lot of Sunday School Kids who struggled because one parent was a believer and wanted the kids to go to church and the other parent wasn't and didn't.

Anyhow that's my two cents about why God has asked believers and non-believers to not be joint together in marriage. There are passages however where God gives advice to the believer as to how they can win their unbelieving spouse to Him and so God does understand that this is a situation that does occur, and much like your observation- it's the importance of loving others in a way that is honoring to God.

It sucks that your impression of many Christians is that they are mean, lying, and cheaters cuz Jesus is nothing like that.

Have a great day! And i'd love to answer any questions you may have - nicksterlee@yahoo.com although you seem to have some wonderful friends who'd be glad to do that as well...

Jesus is the son of God interior the comparable way which you and that i are the toddlers of God. it is not literal. think of back to the time the bible became written. maximum folk could no longer even study. memories have been created to make issues logical. Logical back then isn't even on the brink of the comparable as logical is now. I propose, they used to bleed those with leeches for a fever! the only situation leeches are good for is severe bruising and inner bleeding! the only people who ought to study have been priests and human beings in ability. i think of you may agree that religious followers and human beings in ability are no longer the main purpose, definite? besides, Adam isn't the son of God. he's OF God. there's a difference. Adam became produced from God's physique... which heavily resembles paganism and mythology. this is a fashion of rationalization, no longer literal. i'm a new child of God, and on an identical time as God is my "father" my organic and organic father is an earthly guy (who became continually at the back of in his new child help money). For Catholics, their priest is termed "father." in case you learn anthropology, hundreds of years in the past, family individuals relationships weren't unavoidably based upon genetic ties. end attempting to study the bible actually. basically pay interest to the training, examples, etc.

Gosh, Jenn, you've seen our warts. But, bless you, you've seen our dimples too.
I am glad you have Christian friends who have shown you love. And I am very glad that you are showing them respect.
Perhaps, in time, they'll be able to lead you to the truth. You'll have reason to thank them.
In any case, I'm sure you will have good reason to remember them. Possibly for an eternity.

You know the scripture better than the Christians??!! You apparently think quite highly of yourself. I hope your life reflects your own self image.
