Wicca is a pagan religion.

No it is not evil.

No they do not worship satan, they do not believe he exists.

Wicca believe in the rule of 3, that being, any spell you cast on someone else, it will come back 3 fold, be it good or evil.

Christians murdered hundreds of witches during the Salem Witch Trials for being different.

If you are seriously interetesed in it, I suggest you look up some of the non-mainstream authors.

You have several good answers and a lot of misinformation. I had a boss who once said to me that Wicca sounds like wicked so that's why people think we are evil. Too many people think like that - jump to conclusions and slap on labels. The origins of the word Wicca mean to bend. No acronyms or anything like that. Really a simple belief that is nature based, with holidays on the natural solstices and equinoxes, and may or may not, depending on the practitioner, have a goddess and a god. It is kind of a fad, a lot will leave (we do not recruit and anyone is free to leave without reprisal) and those who do stay end up with a deep appreciation of nature and life that you don't find in very many other religions.

Wicca is an earth-based religion that appreciates the Gods and forgotten Goddesses of Christianity. It uses spells and rituals mostly like you would use prayer in Christianity. Wicca is not Satanism in any form, in fact, Wiccans do not even believe in the devil, but only in good and bad. Wiccans believe in the three-fold law which is do harm and you get harm three-fold, do good and you get good returned three-fold, pretty much like karma. I will post some sites below or you to research more thoroughly. Also, don't judge so quickly if you do not know what it even is!

Wicca is a broad based religious path routed in earthbased spirituality. There is deity personified as female, the goddess. In some traditions it is god and goddess. There is no belief in the devil. Like any other religion there can be ethical, non ethical, crackpot or sane people embracing it. It, and more broadly, paganism, is the fastest growing religion of our times. This makes Christians nervous, and some, not all, of them get freaked out that we want to recruit their children and are in league with the devil. The fact that the Bible is an historical view of time depicted from the conquering monotheistic people's view, it is skewed. Pagan does not equal evil. It is just another way of looking at the divine. It uses visualization, prayer, supplication, meditation and other tools to connect with the divine. Always really look at both sides when you are investigating religion. If you are a young person, try to get more than one view. Your soul belongs to you and only you can find your Path. I was raised Christian, but have been Wiccan for 6 yrs. I do not reject the basic message of Christianity, but the trappings and mis-quotes that are rampant in the desperate attempt of fundatmental Christians to hang on to power. PS> Wiccans don't on the whole want that power. We just want to be left alone to worship as we see fit.

Witchcraft. OH my god I said the evil word!!! That is what alot of people think, they automatically equate witchcraft and paganism with satanism. Completely different things. All these people that say that wicca is not real and wicca is the devil are ignorant and zealous. They have not reasearched their facts, nothing at all. They have never even tried to understand it, instead they take others words for it that witchcraft is the devil. At the very least wiccans don't tell other wiccans that they are going to hell.

Wicca is any sort of hard woven plant fiber formed into a useful object. Wicca is usually used for baskets or furniture. The baskets beneath hot air balloons are usually made of wicca.

I don't think there is a certain definition of "Wicca", I think they all believe in different things and it's basically anybody who uses earth and the environment and stuff for sort of "Magikal" purposes. But every single Wiccan I've ever talked to has believed something different.

They aren't Satan worshippers though, contrary to a popular belief, and for the most part they are just regular people who want to be good people and help others.

Wicca is a modern form of an ancient pagan religion that actually predates Christianity. It has become sort of a "fad" recently, but true Wiccans are peaceful, nature-loving people that do not believe in "recruiting" people into their beliefs. They believe in a God and a Goddess and they celebrate the seasons.
It's not evil, and they do not believe in harming anyone.
Also, Satan is a figure that Christians believe to be real (not saying this is wrong or otherwise) - but those who are not Christian, like Wiccans, do not worship Satan because to them he doesn't even exist.

Its the 'modern' version of witchcraft - it blossomed when the 'new age' arrived.

However, there's tons of rubbish and mis-information about witchcraft all over the web, much of it is referred to as being 'Wicca'.

If you really want to find an answer, you'll just have to wade through the chaff and discover it for yourself.

I would add that I am surprised at the sheer ignorance of some of the replies to this question.
