If you have a sore throat, usually accompanied by itchy eyes, runny or blocked nose, you should buy and anti-histamine, they come in the form of tablet, nasal spray, liquid, and eye drops.
There are two forms of tablet, old generation - such as Piriton, and new generation, such as Zirtek.
Old generation have a very broad spectrum of use from pet allergies up to hay fever, they treat a very wide range of allergens and will work for most reactions, however they are very likely to cause drowsiness. Piriton is known generically as chlorphenamine maleate, may be slightly mis-spelt, lol.
New generation, are usually very specific and intended for hay fever etc, they are generic names like Loratidine, or Cetirizine.
The other thing about hayfever relief is that one is not better or more effective than another, you have to find something that suits you, the best way is to ask for them is 'generically' - that is by their drug name, not their brand name, there are many brands on the market and only several actual 'generic' names, this will prevent you wasting time and money finding one that suits you.
You can suffer from fever at any time of the year, depending on what pollens are about, they may be tree, grass or flower.
Hayfever nasal sprays are a good way of combatting several symptoms, they usually take a few days to build up their effect and you have to keep taking them for the duration of the hayfever season.
Eye drops may be used as and when, you may also use a combination of these approaches and will need to see a pharmacist for advice.

I think you should see a doctor, just to check it out, you might have a throat infection.
Allergies can manifest themselves in a variety of ways including swelling of the mucus membranes and vomiting and have different levels of effect, from mild annoyance to full blown anaphylaxis.
However, if it is an allergy, the best way to resolve the problem is to work out what you are actually allergic to. Dos it get worse when you eat a specific food or at a specific time of day (pollen is highest in the evening). You should be able to see an allergy specialist who might recommend a drug called piriton (trade name) when you have attacks. Severe allergy sufferers are give pens containing adrenaline.

If it truly is allergies you can try any of the OTC (over the counter) allergy medicines available just know that some will make you sleepy (like benedryl) so plan accordingly so that you don't fall asleep while working. Try the OTC meds for a few days and if that doesn't give you relief you may need to see your doctor to rule out any kind of viral illness, may be that you just need a stronger antihistamine for your symptoms.

I take allegra d for my allergies. I get the same symptoms plus a stuffy nose every day, but most medicines for allergies are perscriptions, so you're going to need to see a doctor.
