A nail fungus can be very difficult to get rid of. There are over the counter remedies but they can take a year or so of treatment before it goes away. Being that she is only two, I would take her to a doctor and get a diagnosis and a remedy for this. If left untreated, nail fungus can cause other problems.
Good luck.

It's really quite easy to get rid of it....but it depends on how healthy she eats. Nail and skin fungus disappear from you if you eat healthy and get enough sleep...my dad is a doctor and he taught me this, so, just make sure she is eating things that are not fattening, and don't have any partially hydrogenated oils in them. Partially hydrogenated oils have caused people various kinds of cancer, and one of those people was my mother, so if she just keeps her body healthy, she is sure to have the fungus disappear completely. Use some PONDS dry skin cream for the cracked skin (it can be found at Walgreens) and make sure you don't put any special polishes on her nails...because they are very potent and are only to be used for fungus ON the nails...not IN the nails..
Good Luck!!!

All these suggestions sound nice and helpful but what about just plain old bleach! one tablespoon in a sink of warm water have her rinse and soak for a few minutes, 4-5 or more times a day. Rinse with clear water and dry them with a cool blow dryer.
The doctors will give you creams that will work but this works just as well and the smell will keep her little fingers out of her mouth.

First, you really should find a free medical clinic in order to make sure the problem really is a fungus.
Please don't take chances with your baby's skin or health and try things people suggest on here.

Get help from the county or the city or the Board of Health. The chld's health emergency cannot be neglected like this. Surely she is/ you are/ eligible for help to overcome this growing problem. It also concerns others. Keep after getting help. Make yourself heard. Allow the child to be seen by those who should help her, and you.
