Yes, you should IF you plan on running more than one high-powered amp, or one extremely high-powered amp. If, however, you're planning on having 2-4 Kenwood, Pioneer, MTX 4500, or the like, subs plus one 200 watt x2 amp pushing them, then definitely not.
Of course, having a battery isolator plus a second battery would allow you to sit at a stop light with the air conditioner running, the headlights on, and your system cranked. But, really, how hard is it to turn your volume down a bit, when your car is idling?? I personally have a battery isolator, and a deep cycle battery that's just for my stereo, and I still don't play it at max volume when my car's idling.
Here's a hint: if your headlights don't dim when you're stopped for a red light, then you don't need a second battery. If they do, try turning your volume down a notch or two, and unless you've got a powerful sub amp, they more than likely will stop dimming. Of course, if you've got one of those Hondas with a 35 amp alternator, you need the second battery, even if you're only running two 8's.

No don't do that. The battery will eventually drain, and everytime the battery drains it doesn't hold as much charge next time meaning it will need replaced regularly as amps destroy batteries because of the voltage peaks it draws. the best thing to do if your battery isn't good enough is to buy a better one, such as an Optima Yellow Top battery. Then fit a deisel alternator. If you have a big system then you will need a power cap, these smooth out the power peaks prelonging the life of the battery, you will typically need a 1 farad power cap for every 1000 watts of power. If this still isn't enough then you can upgrade to a pricey Split charge system which runs two batteries from the alternator. however don't just connect the battery straght to the alternator as it is likely to explode.

It seems such as you have become some digital interference on your mids. make optimistic that your RCA cables are run seperate out of your ability cables. those cables are pulling a good style of modern-day that could bleed into your sound that's what appears like is occurring. additionally, it is obtainable which you have some inferior cables or something working between the amps and that should be why the buzzing in basic terms happens whilst the two amps are on. Double examine all your connections and be sure you're no longer getting any interference! wish that facilitates.

If you run a system of probably 800-1000 watts or more a capacitor with your existing battery should be enough. It wouldn't be worth the trouble to add another battery unless you were looking at an extremely high powered system. Usually when you shop for the capacitor the recomended wattage will be on it.

That will free up your regular battery from the drain by the amp, but you will have to always charge the marine battery. It wont be connected to the alternator, it is only running your audio. What you also need is a battery isolator, that way you can have both batteries running separate items, but both of them will be charged by the alternator.

No you shouldn't. Unless you plan on listening to the system with the vehicle off for long periods of time, you will never have use for an added battery.

The above poster (PitBull) is right, however, this is only really needed for systems of high wattages. Something like 1200 total watts RMS or higher.
