Try to do alot of exercise in the day.
the last few hours do things that would keep you calm and relaxed, something quiet like reading a book or talking with someone or snuggling on the couch.
Go for a long soak in the bath with bubble and candles.
Make sure the bed is comfortable.
Make sure the room isnt too hot and isnt too hot.
Keep the room dark and quiet.
Or drink some hot chocolate.
I heard eating a bananna 30 minutes before you go to sleep helps too, dont ask me why!!
When you go to sleep try to empty your mind of things.
You should get to sleep pretty quick if you do all them!!
Pleasant dreams!! xx

Well you can go and either buy "Sleep-eze", or " Luminex" I think its called,,,,,,,Or you can take a natural, food or drink to help you sleep.....Like, try to remember any kinds of foods that have made you tired in the past, and stock-up on that, for those days, when you're having difficulty sleeping.... I myself use to take sleep-eze, when I was working at this very stressful place & time in my life.......They were very effective, but, the next morning I felt a bit, "Groggy" from taking them the night before........However, years later, I'd gotten myself back into some really stressful years, and found out I was actually experiencing "Anxiety", and before I finally went to a doctor, for it..I started looking for something to make me shut-down, my brain & make me tired, so I wouldn't stress anymore, and that became chocolate, or if I didn't have chocolate in my house, I'd just eat like a couple of "Lady-finger" cookie's at bed time.....And everytime, I got restless, and couldn't sleep, I'd refer to dark chocolate, or oatmeal cookies....... I eventually started keeping things stocked in my house for those times, it would happen again.....Works everytime, though. Dark chocolate, is good for you too......I'm on mediicine now, for the anxiety, but, every so often instead of my meds,I'll eat a peice of dark chocolate, instead....And within, oh, 15-30minutes, I'm "Yawning" and ready to roll over, and go to sleep!!! Good-Luck, to you !

I try counting. I give myself a limit and if I reach it I tell myself that I am never going to get asleep and then I allow myself to get up or read or watch telly.... I usually have a target of about 300. I vary my rules. Sometimes if I lose or forget what number I am at I have to go back to zero. Other times I allow myself to go back to the last hundred or fifty. I very rarely reach my target.....
The reason I usually cannot get to sleep is that I have things on my mind and this mindless counting helps me not to worry about the things that are keeping me awake!!
Otherwise count sheep.....

This probably sounds gross, but try warm milk. My grandmother used to always tell me how wonderfully it worked, and I always sneered at the thought.
But during a college-bout of insomnia, I actually tried it...and it works. Granted, it's not the best tasting stuff in the world (milk is supposed to be ice cold, in my opinion) but it sure does work. Just heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so.

I find that using lavender in the bath relaxes my mind and muscles after a hard day's work. it is also good for skin and hair.
prepare for a blissful night's sleep by adding a few drops of lavender essential oil to the bath. you can also put it on your sheets or place a small bag of seeds under your pillow to help you drift of to sleep.

Valerian root............warm milk............warm bath.......stretching........a combination of these??
although my doctor swears by putting in a movie you have seen with the volume down low. That way you can't hear it and will get bored and fall asleep. Personally, I find I strain so hard to listen I get a headache, lol!
