take a cotton ball or paper towel and wet it with warm water. Then take that and rub their bottom with it - front to back. He will probably pee first...get a clean one and see if you can get him to poop. You have to do this each time they are fed (and they need to be fed every few hours) until he can go in the box by himself.
You have to stimulate him to go - he cannot do this on this own yet.

Like alot of people here said, you need to get some warm damp washcloth or cotton ball and rub under his tail with it. It may take a while so don't stop until he goes. Kittens need to have the mother cat lick their butts to trigger going to the bathroom when they are very small. They can't go on their own until they are probably 5 weeks old. You should start doing this ASAP because if it's been too long since he eliminated he could get poisoned from his own poo and die. You should do this at least 3 times a day, preferably after every meal he eats. Don't try the soap thing someone suggested. It may be fine for an older kitten who has the ability to go on it's own and is just constipated, but not on a baby this young. Your kitty won't poo because he is unable to without help, not because he's constipated. Good luck and I think you're awesome for going to so much trouble to save a little kitty! :)

My kittens pooped on their own is less than one week, after their mother was left at the vet. She didn't live long after surgery. They still need to be stimulated to poop, because maybe their mother was there to help them on their first days, or maybe they groom each other. On the second trip to the vet, she said kittens can poop on their own at different ages because they are different. It's good to stimulate them despite if they pooped on their own, because they still need assistance, and also on their third week they can get messy in their living bin.
They don't always need to poop after feeding, but it's good to stimulate them to pee and poop before, after, and any chance you get anyway. Some kittens will just finish pooping on their own after stimulating them to pee. One kitten of mine has to be assisted until it's finished, and he often makes a mess in his bin. Kittens that purr and show their comfort around you, give you an easier time with everything. These kittens are on their 3rd week, and I'm still learning how to take care of them.

Mother cats lick their kitten's bottom to induce pooping, simply wipe his bottom with a washcloth moistened with mildly warm water. This is best since it most closely resembles the slightly rough mother cat's tongue. Do this after every meal and every nap and every playtime you will see results shortly. Remember a momma cat would do this until the kitten is about five weeks old.

I just got a kitten about that old myself and I thought she was not pooing (but the first 3 days she did not go!)and to my surprise she was pooing behind stuff so look around(Ahh! That's when I learned she can poo!), it is so tiny that if not caught in time can resemble dried black gum stuck to the carpet.
If you don't find any, then watch what you are feeding the kitten. You want to feed your cat a high-quality brand name kitten or cat food ...avoid generic brands make sure it is eating 2-3 times a day. I got my kitten some Iams in a can and I had to force her to eat but she got the hang of it and started producing the poo...so the high-quality foods really do work.
Now that you got the kitten some good food, the litter training begins because it is not going to poo in that litter box. When training take the kitten and show it where the litter box is and then gently take the paw and create the imitation of a cat scratching litter. When the kitten uses the litter praise it, cats respond more to praise then anger!
Good Luck to you, now find that POO!

Take a warm wash cloth and rub around his anus till he goes. You will need to repeat this process several times a day to make sure he goes. Please, make sure the kitten has been checked out by a vet and is getting the proper kitten formula. Plus, your vet can fill you in on all things that you need to do to make sure this baby grows up happy and healthy.

A mother cat will lick the anal area. A warm, wet, soft cloth can be used if momma is not available.
Otherwise see the vet!

Wipe it's butt with a wet wash cloth or wet paper towel. If that doesn't work, take the kitten to the vet.

Gently rub your thumb on his belly. Make sure he is given enough of the right food(formula). I had three little ones like this and was told to massage their belly to get things moving. It may not work instantly, but don't just do it for two seconds and stop. You can almost feel if they are uh, hm, stuck, that's one of the reasons mommy licks them, to keep things flowing. Good luck.
