They're bitter. They thought serving God was going to make them happy, and it hasn't, so in their disillusionment they become abusive.

Where are you getting this most Christians don't even believe in spanking there children let alone abuse and them and there pets. Now some movies show Christians beating the sins out of the children but I really don't think they are true Christians. Most that do and call themselves Christians are hypocrites

Christians are humans too. Why not ask this same question but instead this way.

Where did you get the idea that Christians abuse their pets and children? I don't abuse pets or children and I don't know any Christian who does.

That is a stereotype. Not all Christians are. I thought the ones who confessed there sins and had the previous weeks sins forgiven were Catholics not Christians. Being abusive towards anyone or anything has nothing to do with your religion, It has to do with a persons mentality.

I do not know any Christians that are abusive. Maybe the ones you know of are claiming to be Christians but are not. If they were they would have Jesus in their hearts and know that abusing thing is not how Jesus would treat anyone and it is not how they want to be treated either.

Same reason why so many Athiests are and any other walk of life. I am a Christian and I don't abuse anyone.

First that's a generalization and a new one. I have never heard of this. I have 3 dachshunds who are spoiled rotten, and 2 sons who are not rotten but definitely not abused.

i knew a couple that tied their dogs to a fence 24/7 once they had a child

Because man is wicked in all of his ways. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc. Who are these "many" Christians you speak of???
