Is it something that our ancestors made up a long time ago to give people answers to diffucult questions, such as Why am I alive? And why does everyone die?

Because if people could not write thousands of years ago, then the story of the bible must have been passed along by word of mouth. And we all know what stories (ie. the game telephone) will change the more it is passed on. So by the time someone actually writes thier version down, dont you think these stories would have changed drastically?

Yes, religion was invented by people. I'm not saying God exists or not, this is a different question.

Some gods in one religion were transplanted to other religions and then developed differently. So, yes, you're right, the stories changed with the oral tradition.

I don't think religion is a way to answer difficult questions, but to deal with the unknown (the death and some unexplicable phenomena).

Finally, I have never asked myself why I'm alive and what is the sense of life. It's pointless and everybody knows that. But I know why everyone dies: because otherwise we would live in an overcrowded world.

Who Made Up Religion

All religions are made up. They had to start somewhere. Religion uses small pieces of truth with a whole lot of make believe mixed in. Sort of what the legend behind the devil does. Supposedly he uses truth mixed with lies to confuse you. Religion is a good example of this, although I do not think that the confusion part was on purpose. People simply saw the world like small children do back then.

You're correct about the questions of life and death. Many people cannot live their lives without wondering and many people worship "something or someone" in order to be thankfull, or just because they believe their ancestors, etc.

people have been able to write since the sumerians(about 6000 BC) so that part of your argument is flawed....but i do believe that the bible is a load of crap and that religion is something that was made up by people to explain what they didnt understand at the time....once we answered the question with science, we dont believe in that god anymore.

Yeah! How did you know? who gave you great wisdom, if you look in the bible and you really care, the definition on religion is just to take care of widows and fatherless, so far I have not found any other definition in this book, If you find one please let me know. Of course and to be very ugly, every body agrees with the Word of God right?

P.S Not been ugly to ya I like you. good question.

After you listen to all the different views in the world, read the bible. The truth is there.
There are books that can help you study it and apply it to your life, the way God meant it for you.
