I know I need five to six small portions every four to five hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're supposed to be the size of my fist.

So does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat? I'm fairly picky. I love fruits and grain, vegetables and dairy not so much. But I'm trying to be open minded about what I eat and try new things. I just don't know how to cook small.

(And if it matters, I have a small fist) ;D

My ex-husband is a body builder and used to eat 6-8 small meals every day.

One meal would consist of a 3 egg white omelet with veggies.
Another would be a can of tuna packed in water.
Another would be 3 oz of chicken or fish.

He would accompany his meals with either white rice, small potato or sweet potato.

As for fruits, he ate bananas, apples, grapes and oranges. He also would substitute a couple of the meals with protein shakes. Lee Labrada's Wild Strawberry is very good. He mixed them with skim milk.

I find that eating steadily through the day works best. I'll have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, of course, but eating between those meals should be done. Eating things like fruits and grains would be the best for you, especially fruits. Your blood sugar will get a boost and you'll feel on top of things again.

How to cook small? Just don't cook so much food at once! Think about what you'll be doing after you eat a meal to determine what/how much you should eat. If you're going to be running a marathon tomorrow, you're going to need the energy from food to help you through it. Follow common sense instead of the plethora of diets out there. They all say the same thing really: eat well and exercise.

3 of the "meals" in your day should be pieces of fruit or raw vegetables.

The whole idea of this is to get a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.

Make sure that your fruit is a different color and has the skin on it, if possible.

Make salads fun! Use creative things like nuts or cranberries. Try fruits and veggies that you've never heard of before.

Acctually. It should just be 5 moderate, and healthy meals, every three hours a day... otherwise you'll have to wake yourself up in the middle of the night to eat- and then go back to sleep- VERY UNHEALTHY!!!!!!

Try eating your high carbs in the morning so you can work them off... and eat tuna, and chicken breast during the day.. veggies,- carrot sticks, celery sticks, furits, oranges apples, BANANNAS!. and your last meal of the day should be light and eaten before 8pm.

The whole different colored veggies and skin stuff is a myth... Just eat as helathy as you can. and stay in a normal 2,000 calorie day diet

A 4 oz chicken breast is supposed to be about the size of the palm of your hand.
