They did well to put so much propaganda and hypocrisy into one book. So I guess I should applaud it in that respect.
But hey, my oppinion doesn't count since I'm not a land owner according to your other question!!

I'm eclectic.
That means that one religion "being right" doesn't automatically make another one wrong. The idea that one tradition has all the answers and the rest of the world gets NOTHING RIGHT is a little arrogant.
Nobody knows everything about God, or whatever it is that holds the universe together.

Dear Big F,
I do not know where you got your info but the Bible is God's word! There is no way that man could write this!! The Bible is like a fine woven garment, every thread in intricately intwined with the others to produce a beautiful garment. And that garment that all men need becasue they are wretched, vile sinners is salvation. Perhaps you have 20/20 vision but if you are not born again (saved) you are blind and deaf! Only Christ can open the eyes of the blind and give hearing to the deaf. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." Great?
This is a book that is so badly written, 30,000 different organizations based on who it's about, vehemently argue about the stories within.
There should be a content advisory warning, advising that the book contains verses describing or advocating suicide, incest, bestiality, sadomasochism, sexual activity in a violent context, murder, morbid violence, use of drugs or alcohol, homosexuality, voyeurism, revenge, undermining of authority figures, lawlessness, and human rights violations and atrocities.
And that exposure to contents for extended periods of time or during formative years in children may cause delusions, hallucinations, decreased cognitive and objective reasoning abilities, and in extreme cases, pathological disorders, hatred, bigotry, and violence including, but not limited to fanaticism, murder and genocide.

Well, it IS a best-selling piece of literature. It's well written and so long lasting that it's been a best-seller for twenty centuries. Talk about success!

Well, stories like Samson are similar to Hercules however based on actual monks at that time. The Tower of Babel and the Flood are both obviously mythological. It is however interesting to compare the capture of Jerico by blowing trumpets to the siege of Troy.

It has its moments. Lot's incestuous seduction in the cave is one of my favorites. It's fun for all ages!
