Your perception of God is tragically skewed. First off God is The Almighty and He is not limited by space time or matter.

Secondly, Christ is the "only Begotten Son of God" - begotten meaning "born" to a human by the Spirit of God.

He's "God" in the same sense that a prince is still royalty. They are separate entities that function toward the same purpose and in that they are One united by the same Spirit. If Jesus IS the Father, then why would He ascend to heaven and sit at His own right hand?

So God's begotten son, sent as an all encompassing and perfect sacrifice, is being baptised in the river while God the Almighty Father remains in the heavenlies.

Simply put, they're not the same enitity. Christ did say, "I and my Father are one."

But according to the bible, and man and wife are "one" as well. This does not make them the same person. It makes them a functional family unit.

The Godhead is made up of three separate and distinct personages, God the Father, God the Son who is our elder brother and came to earth born to a mortal mother, and God the Holy Ghost. God the Father and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone. The Holy Spirit who is also our brother, has forgone his body until later in order to do the will of the Father. They are one in purpose.

Jesus is not God. Jesus is the son of God. Any father son relationship. There are many places in the Bible that clearly state that. Even when Jesus himself says that he is not equal to the father.

Jesus is the Son of God. When He is baptized, God said "This is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased."

Jesus is named so because the Angel Gabriel told Mary that would be his name.

God is still in Heaven.

Jesus claimed to be God. IN fact, He claimed omnipresence when He said that He was the Son of Man who is also in Heaven. (He was on earth at the time.) So, Jesus claimed to be God.

Jesus was a man. Christ is the divine nature of God, that existed in the body of Jesus.

in being baptised, Jesus highlights a devotional that washes the sin from our soul, thus the being reborn is us, rising from the water, as we would from the womb of our mother.
