How Does Fluoride Kill Bacteria

fluoride does not kill the bacteria, there are detergents in the toothpaste that do that. Also you can buy toothpaste that have bacteria-killing substances (these are usually called like "complete" toothpastes.) If you have concerns about germs on toothbrushes (like you were sick or something), just throw it away and buy a new one. They aren't that expensive and your teeth and health are worth it. Oh, I think leaving toothpaste on your toothbrush although I see where you are going with this is not a good idea because of the mess, the toothpaste dripping off onto the sink & your toothbrush holder...also I think you kind of want your toothbrush to sort of dry out between brushings..nothing grows germs like a wet toothbrush!
