The viscal fluid, or semen, can last a very long time in air but the sperm that swims in it is likely dead after a very short time. Air is not the natural environment of the male sperm in its quest to seek and meet the female egg dropped by the ovaries. It requires a constant temperature close to the body temp of 98.6 or warmer to survive its swim to it ultimate goal. Sperm is ultimately quite fragile, which is why of the profuse number released with each male ejaculation, few make the trip and only one can join with the female egg--kind of survival of the fittest. Would hate to be a sperm.

"Sperm can live for only a few hours inside the vagina, and even less than that outside the human body, exposed to the open air. If the sperm survive to enter the less hostile environment of the female reproductive tract beyond the cervix, they can survive for up to five days. The egg, however, has a life-span of only about a single day from the time it leaves the ovary.
In short, fertilization can occur whenever a live sperm meets up with a live egg, which can happen even if the sperm are deposited up to five days in advance of ovulation.
"

lifetime outside anybody's body half hour to a few hours. careful now!

No, but the sperm cells will eventually die once the fluid parts of the semen dry up.

I think you mean sperm (semen is the liquid that the sperm swim around in), and I think they flop around for a few seconds like a fish before they die.

In a guy who's reached sexual maturity, the two testicles (pronounced: tes-tih-kulz), or testes (pronounced: tes-teez), produce and store millions of tiny sperm cells. The testicles are oval-shaped and grow to be about 2 inches (5 centimeters) in length and 1 inch (3 centimeters) in diameter. The testicles are also part of the endocrine system because they produce hormones, including testosterone (pronounced: teh-stass-tuh-rone). Testosterone is a major part of puberty in guys, and as a guy makes his way through puberty, his testicles produce more and more of it. Testosterone is the hormone that causes guys to develop deeper voices, bigger muscles, and body and facial hair, and it also stimulates the production of sperm.
