I think people have this mentality about Jewish people that started over 2000 yrs ago (the whole Jesus thing). It's just a mind set that has developed over the years and is really discrimination without justification. People think the Jews make more money, have high I.Qs e.t.c. I think people think that the Jews just get things easier than the rest of us. Also the recent news on the telly hasn't helped with matters. For what it's worth there are always going to be people who hate this group or don't like this one's belief. People always need to find something to hate. The Jewish are just a perfect target.
Although, I must add, it seems there is also a perception among some of the Jewish people: the belief that they're somehow superior.
I'm a Bhuddist and so I don't believe in this 'God's chosen people' stuff but I think that some Jews take it just a little to far. Consider what I'm saying, I'm trying to take a neutral perspective NOT trying to give you the answer you want to hear.

We have a saying in America that goes like this..."Once a Jew, always a Jew!" Roughly translated, it means that there is no getting out of or away from having the blood of your Jewish Ancestors removed from your person! You are born with it & you shall have it until you die & beyond. That is why the Jews are hated & feared. Even if you don't practice the Jewish Faith, if you have the bloodline, you are linked & suffer with your "Family". Even Hitler knew the power of the Jews & knew that killing us in large numbers would ensure the power of his ancestors to return in the future with even more power than they had in life! It is a blessing & a curse. It is a power that cannot be bought, stolen, or given away. It is a ONENESS that is unstopable. Hatred is FEAR. Jews are feared. Because we are one WITH the power which creates ALL life, therefore we have no fear!

In my opinion, don't think that it is correct to place it entirely on Jews. Because I believe that people hate what they don't understand. Many people unless associated with the Jewish Faith don't understand their beliefs, but I think that it is the same way with anything people don't understand.

Anti-semitism is based in history. There are thousands of years of persecution that these people have had to endure. The old testament of the bible and the koran are pretty much in aggreement of the history. There are a lot of details, as this is a loaded question, but if you read the history in one of the original texts, it will answer this question.

Do you think it's "more American" to turn our backs on a state just because it's "religious"?
"Yes, we'll help you, because you have fanatical neighbors who are hell-bent on your uttter destruction... No, wait a minute -- you're a religious state. Forget it. Never mind."
Is that the stance you feel we should espouse? Turn our backs on a country that has fanatics wanting to destroy it -- just because it's a "religious country"?
