2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. margarine
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. peanut butter, smooth or chunky
3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla

In a large saucepan, mix sugar, milk, cocoa, margarine and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and stir until dissolved. Add oats, stirring in 1 cup at a time. Add vanilla and mix well. Wait 2-3 minutes, then drop batter by teaspoonfuls on wax paper or aluminum foil. Cool. Makes 5 dozen cookies.

Place chocolate chips, peanut butter (if used), oats, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal and chocolate chip mixture; stir well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.

they are called no bake cookies

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
3 cups quick cooking oats
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cocoa, milk and margarine. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt, peanut butter and oats.
2. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow cookies to cool for at least 1 hour. Store in an airtight container.

My mother-in-law made these cookies for me all the time and they are so easy to make and delicious.


Summertime Cookies

2 c. sugar
3 T. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter

Mix these together and boil for one minute.

Remove from heat and add

1/2 c. peanut butter
3 c. oats
1 tsp. vanilla.

Mix well. Take a tablespoon and drop spoonfuls of mixture onto wax paper. Once cool they firm up.

Mmmm these are one of my favorite cookies, I always have a trouble making them tho, When I make them they never harden up.
