Be very careful of these so called "teacup" dogs. They usually have many health problems, and they can die easily. You are also going probably be paying a LOT of money for a poor-quality dog, but that might not be the case. There are some good breeders that tell you about a small dog they can sell, and all the health problems about it, and the extra responsibilities.
My friend used to have a teacup maltese, but it went behind the couch and died. Since it was so small, they couldn't find it.

there is no such thing as a "teacup" version of a breed. When a breeder is trying to sell a teacup dog - it is the runt of the litter and they are just trying to get some profit out of it. Maltese and Yorkie's only come in their one standard size. And like someone before me stated - "teacup" pups usually aren't that healthy

Be very careful of "teacup" breeds. If you talk to a reputable breeder, they will tell you that it is not healthy and that there is no such thing as far as registrations standards are concerned.

Yeah, REAL breeders do not breed these teacup varities. They are not natural and when you start moving far away from the standard height of the breed, health issues arise. You cannot breed something to be smaller, and smaller, and not expect to have to compromise on certain health issues!!!!

Your best bet is a breeder. Or a shelter.
Whatever you do, don't purchase from a petstore. These puppies aren't born in good conditions and many times the parents have health problems that can be passed down to their offspring.
