Not really. You can buy a cheap faucet filter for your tap and have gallons of the same kind of water that comes from a bottle for $$$$$$$ less.

Most bottled water IS tap water. Check out the Water Works episodes of Good Eats sometime. Alton Brown takes you through all the details of stuff like the water cycle, the difference between a well, a deep well, and an artesian well, and more. Very informative! And remember, if you DO buy bottled water, recycle your bottles!

No it is not. It is all a big marketing scam.. The fact of the matter is that the regulations governing the purity of tap water are so much stricter than those governing bottled water, that I would think twice about buying bottled water.

Technically, tap water is better because it IS chlorinated. The chlorination kills bacteria in the water. Bottled water just tastes better.

It depends how good your tap water is. If you are planning a trip to Mexico, I'd get bottled water.
