I don't think so. Usually darker cherry wood is used for a more rustic, country look while oak cabinets (especially if light) lend a modern feel.

depends. is the oak stained dark too, or is it natural? some people think if they have oak, everything should be oak. i've always had a variety, maple, cherry, oak, different shades of stain and natural. the varying shades make a nice contrast. i would think if your oak cabinets are lighter, it would look pretty good. good luck

Im in the new construction business, if your oak is stained and not natural you will probably be ok, but i would suggest natural american cherry as its lighter than brazilian cherry and wont darken over time like the brazilian will

Most of my clients go with a lighter color like Gallo ornamental or new venetian gold granite with dark cabinets, you can pull the dark color out in the backspalsh with dark colored dots or accents in a lighter color tile backspalsh. The look is great and warms up the area.

As long as the cabinets are white oak not red. The red shades might clash otherwise.
