Not only that, they give you the dimensions of the ark in the bible...it's not that big...they make themselves look idiotic and still, people believe it...
I mean, don't get me wrong, it's pretty big...but for two of everything???
Genesis 6
14Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
19And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
Then God changes his mind on the numbers a couple of seconds later...
Genesis 7
2Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
3Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
Nice consistency...and they say there are no contradictions in the bible...wake up.

Most of these are metaphorical stories with morals... of course embellishment is the name of the game when it comes to the bible...
But considering the Bible wasn't compiled until about 400 yrs after Jesus died, durin Constantinoble's reign, it comes as no surprise that it's just a bunch of bedtime stories...
But don't count all christians out... most all are very good people who are level headed and realize that the bible is more of a guide than a rule...
But then are those that are just completely conservative right-wingers, who take the Bible at face value because they are blindly faithful and have no imagination themselves. The funny thing is, these are the people that made the catholic church so big in the first place and gave it all its power. The reason a catholic ceremony is so organized and constant is that it was designed to make it easier for the illiterate and ignorant masses to follow the faith. Thus, bringing more people into the beliefs and increasing the power of the Church...
Not a conspiracy theory, folks... it's fact.
I was raised Catholic. Of course, now I am agnostic. And I'm much happier for it.

You cannot simply generalize and then stereo type people whether they are Christians, Asians, Caucausians, or anything else- male, female, etcetera. There are obviously a lot of people- male, female, muslim or hindu or christian, black or white or yellow- who lack logic. At the same time, there are also people from all walks of life who are just full of knowledge and logic. It has nothing to do with being a Christian etcetera.
Besides, if stories like Noah's ark blow your mind, it's understandable because you have no faith whatsoever. Furthermore, the human mind is very small. The human brain and body is also not all that great. We can't even see the backs of our own heads and figure out our own bodies without having to learn about them first- what more the higher realm of knowledge!

In Romans 1:21 and 22 it speaks of men who think they are wise yet are fools. They are fools because the Bible says the man who says there is no God is a fool. When they find the ark, and they will what will you say then? In Noah's day it had never rained before. The people all thought Noah was silly. It wasn't logical to build a big old boat. Look who drowned, the "logical" guys.

Logic is a fickle thing.
In the late 1800's flight was thought to be impossible for man - by scientists, not religious fanatics.
In the 1920's, space flight was considered a fantasy - by scientists, not religious zealots.
Prior to the 1940's antibiotics were unavailable and people died from the common cold advancing to pneumonia - a cause of death though to be incurable by doctors.
All of these things were thought to be common logic at the time. We see them all as illogical conclusions today because we understand more today than we did then. And the problem that stood in the way of all was that they trusted their own intellect instead of being open-minded to other possibilities, never realizing that their own reasoning was flawed because of their inability to overcome their own biases, ego and denial.
In 2006 someone posted that all Christians are illogical. This is because despite his best efforts he didn't understand the awesomeness and might of God. It seemed illogical to him at the time. Of course that's just one example and there are indeed countless more.

It really makes me sad when people ask questions just to get Christans all rallied up.
Myself as a Christian would never ask a stupid question to make a Jew, Muslim,Wicca or Mormon angry. So what do you call that, if not logical to ones self preservation? Maybe a SOUL, CONSCIENCE or just plane DECENCY? What ever you call it I would rather have that then YOUR LOGIC! So do yourself a favor and get some self respect. The maybe you wont have to bash others.
And you can do anything with directions. To bad there are no directions on how to be a decent person. I'd mail it to you and all other bashers of any Faith system FREE OF CHARGE.

OK. Noah and his sons built a boat over a period of 120 years. This is a very long time.
God told Noah just to take a pair of every KIND of animal, so just a pair of dogs, a pair of cats, a pair of eagles, a pair of horses etc. Noah didn't have to take labs, poodles, boxers, dachshunds and huskies. I haven't done the math myself, but I understand that these animals could all fit in the ark for the time that the flood would take.
My logic is just fine. If you want to email me and talk about the countless examples that you refer to I'd be glad to discuss them.

I believe the stories in the old testament were written to be told to simple shepards and farmers who had no formal education. (The Jews of the time) Would you instruct to a serf how to plow a Field using theoretical physics equations or would you use simple stories that kept there attention.
These stories predate formal and informal logic. Remember categorical logic (the valid one) didn't exist until Aristotle worked it
in 335 BC.
However when we look at stories in the new testament we find many correlations between the teachings of Socrates and Jesus.
Socrates being the greatest Greek philosopher and Jesus being the greatest man to ever be born.(also the savior of the world)
Check out some of my other "answers" I use logic in most of them and I am in fact a christian.
PS give yourself to Jesus

Actually, your reference to Noah is from the Old Testament, the basis of the Jewish faith. So, then your comment could be construed as anti-semetic. Do you really think Jews have no logic? Funny, Jews number a disproportionally large number of the world's greatest minds...scientists, writers, inventors, etc.
Christianity is based on the belief that Jewish prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. We accept the Old Testament which came before and the New Testament which came after Christ's ministry and sacrifice on Earth.

It is not that we don't have any logic; it is just that our assumptions about basic reality are different than yours. If you assume that there is a God, and that he can do anything that he wants -- including suspending the laws of physics since God created them -- then why is it so hard to believe in miracles? Based on these assumptions, the idea of a guy in a boat being supernaturally taken care of by God seems logical.

First of all, one does no longer ought to be an atheist not to sign up for the inspiration of a "first-class flood." Also, the good judgment you utilize to your argument is mistaken. Using your argument's layout I can say, "If the Great Raining Lava Storm of 1917 on no account occurred, then how does human existence nonetheless exist?"
