Hey tough guy, I hope it's okay for a non-Arab/non-Muslim to answer your Q.

Your question is flawed as well as misleading! The international community is urging a cease fire; Arabs and non-Arabs alike! Believe it or not, many Israelis are among those that are seeking a cessation of hostilities! Prudence demands the necessity of a cease-fire if a resolution is ever to be achieved. I do hope that you agree that resolving this crisis would better serve us than perpetuating it!

Furthermore, are the Arabs really on the losing end ? I do agree that Israel was justified in it's initial response. However, Hezbollah's position has been, and will continue to be, strengthened by a protracted war. This will only serve and reinforce the radical elements in the region.

So, I ask you, who is really on the losing end?

Asking for a cease-fire during any conflict, regardless of the location or the participants, is the approach that is both proper and civilized.

By the way, the 1st invasion of Lebanon was 1982, not '85! Also, for what it's worth, if it were not for U.S. involvement in '56 as well as '73, it is quite possible that Israel would have capitulated; especially '73! It is a well known fact that the Israeli defense minister wept and pleaded for an Israeli surrender!

I suggest that you examine the facts more closely in the future.

Because that's how they fight.
Instigate a war.
. Once the war is well underway and you are in the process of having your *** handed to you... get a few world powers to force your western opponent into a cease fire.
. Whatever you do, don't surrender or submit to any terms dictated by your enemy. That would ruin everything! All you have to do is wait it out and eventually the world will become sickened at what is being done to your soldiers and civilian population... and will force a truce.
. Once a truce has been called you can resume your intransigence (which probably caused the conflict in the first place), and even declare victory as your opponent leaves the field of battle

I have been around for a few years.. I have never seen the USA getting involved in any conflict alongside Israel...They did send their spy plane over the battle field and showed the armament of both sides... then took those pics to all countries involved.. that is what caused the cessation of hostilities.. Shortly after that, (in Carter's time) there was a peace accord between Egypt and Israel.

calls for cease fires come from the modern repository of anti-semitism, the UN and they allow for:
The terrorists to rebuild and re-arm
The UN to bask in the glow of their percieved power while ignoring the utter failure each treaty has been. They collectively hate Israel and sympathize with hezbollah and hamas, this alone is reason enough to disband the UN.
