Get him neutered (if he is not already). Cats are nocturnal. Establish a playtime for him every night - later in the night at 7 or 8 PM. Laser lights and wands work well - this will help wear down some of that energy before you go to sleep. Hopefully this will help.
Rotate toys so things always seem new!
Here are some general articles - including ones on play.

I agree with the first 2 answers. If he is an entire cat he will feel more territorial..and he will try to talk to any female cats in the area. I can't think of anything else apart from if he is a kitten and he is very young and just been separated from his mother and siblings. Was he your cat before you met your wife, cats and pets do get jealous. Does he get any excercise, is he purely and indoor kitty? Or is he Siamese or Burmese, they are very vocal cats. Maybe he is just saying goodnight???? I can't really help you more than that without knowing his age, other behaviour, breed and diet. If he was your cat before you met your wife, try puting a t-shirt or something that has your scent on it in his bed...does he have his own bed??? Once you go to bed, ignore the crying, talking to him will only persuade him to continue. Other than that, make sure he has a good routine. Regular food and water, diet according to his age and amount of excercise he gets. I hope some of this helps and you can get a good nights sleep!!!

Play with him at bed time.Get a da bird cat toy a laser pointer and other types of toys. Usually a good play session before bed time and cats will sleep. Is your cat home alone during the day? if so more then likely your cat is asleep all day and ready to be up and awake at night. Cats are Noctural. But if some one is home duing the day then don't let the cat sleep all day try keeping him up and awake. they will learn to sleep at night.

If the cat isn't neautered, he may be trying to find a girlfriend by calling at night. You should get him fixed immedietly, and keep him inside until you do. A lot of male cats will run away from home in search of a mate, and either get lost, get run over, or just find a place they like better to live.

Your cat is in warmth, my new one it too and he or she sounds like somebody is killing her. I truly have an appt for her to be spayed however the vet suggested wait till she's no longer in warmth. Please spay your's, it facilitates preclude issues like maximum cancers of the teets and others. that's a falsehood that this is greater advantageous to enable a dogs or cat have a clutter first each and all of the vets I truly have used over the years had suggested an identical ingredient. And please do no longer declaw them, that's a barbaric ingredient to do on your cat. this is like a human having an amputation and it style of feels that this is nonetheless there and that they have fantom pains in it. if your cat ever gets out and is declawed she will't climb a tree to get to risk-free practices and has no weapons if corned by yet another animal.

Is it a female? How old is it? It might be in heat... if not, than it's just like a dog. But a cat is aloud to sleep on your bed even if it's a kitten

Maybe she or he is lonely or it wants outside at night. Ether try getting another cat or start letting your cat out at night.
