It can, but it also presents challenges not related to couples who don't work at the same place. If you are in different departments and don't have reason to interact much at work, that is preferable to someone in your department or who you see frequently...especially if there are issues or fights, hard to leave that 'at home' when you have to stare at that person half the day and remember being upset, rather than WHY you are there (to do a job).
Breakups also can make work romances tough...how are you going to handle seeing him or her when your heart is hurting? It's hard enough when you don't see the other person after a breakup.
Not to mention, office gossip and such...if you are going to do it, maintain a professional relationship at work, and keep the romance for after hours.

Well it depends how well you got to know the person. I know my relationship was somewhat similar but in the school area not work area and it has lasted 5 1/2 years and still going strong to this day. It truly depends on how well you know him/her get along with each other. You must know basic of each other. and Go from there and see what happens.

Most likely not. It's very hard to hold a job and not be able to think about the person you had an absolute fun time with last night. At first it's o.k. then as time goes on, someone will make trouble for one of you.

YES! I went to work at an amusement park when I was 18 years old and my trainer who taught me how to the work the rides is now my husband and father to our beautiful daughter 10 years later. Every situation is different. If for some reason we didn't last it would have been awkward at work. Our work didn't have a policy against dating. Everyone kept telling us that it wouldn't last and it was bad for the trainer to be dating the trainee. I guess we showed them.

It can - it just depends on how things work between the two of you. One thing is for sure, if it doesn't work out things are going to be weird and/or volatile with the 2 of you working the same place.

Yes it does!!! I met my bf from where I work at. We've been together for 1.5 years and we even moved in together. I think it's difficult sometimes because people tend to mix up the personal life and the work life but I believe if you truly love that person, anything will work!!

It can but both parties have to be mature enough to not let the situation affect their work.
It very difficult because all that energy that you're going to put in order not to let anyone find out could be spent doing something else.
