I just got my invitations back from the printers, there is a word misspelled on them! What to do? The wedding is only 9 weeks away, should I get a rush order for new ones or just send out the ones I have? My matron of honor said that nobody would notice, but I am still mortified and very P***ed off!!!

If you opt to order new ones (which might be tough) I would demand they be done for free. Their screw up, they pay for it. Nine weeks is cutting it close, depending on how awful it is, I would honestly just send them out. Did you send out "Save the date" cards? If not, I wouldn't wait. The longer you wait, the less likely people will be to attend.

Call the printer and demand them to change them for free within the next week. You only need to have the invites out 6 weeks in advance, so there is time. However, if the mistake was on the proof, it was your mistake and either deal with it or fork over the money to get them fixed. If you have the money, you want them to be perfect because people will notice.

Did you approve a copy prior to ordering them? If so, then I would immediately contact the printer, inform them of the error, return the wrong invites and tell them to fix their problem. HOWEVER....if you never approved a copy (ie: phoned in an order) you may be up sh** creek without a shovel. In either case, contact your printer.

Also, I'd keep envelopes and everything else that's done correctly, you can start addressing the envelopes and when the correct invites come, you can just stuff them.

I completely agree with stargate babe. If it was their error, make them rush the reprinting. If it was yours, bite the bullet and re-order. You can still work on addressing all the envelopes and getting everything together so that all you have to do is add the actual invite and then send. : )

If the printer made a mistake, let him fix it. At his cost.

If you made a mistake, he still has the thing set up ready to go in the computers. Go back and get it fixed ASAP. Pay the additional charges and get on with it.

Contact the company and let them know about the error. They'll probably rush your order since it's their mistake.

Have them reprint them for you. You will want to keep the invitation forever. Don't let the printer's mistake ruin it for you.

Call the printer and ask how soon they can have them back if they fix them, and get the discount you deserve for them screwing up your big day.

Get them reprinted and take the mistake ones to the recycle center.
