The rate of pay of a teacher varies among the states. Yes, most people are correct with the 28-35,000 range - but it is contingent upon the teacher's experience. First year/few year experience make the least, while raises occur as the years go on...usually about a 5-10 year span between pay raises (outside of cost of loving increases). Public schools pay their teachers higher than private schools - typically. In terms of areas, what you will get paid depends on the tax level of that area. Poor area - not so high paycheck. Wealthy area - likely higher paycheck. Look into it.

This varies by district and the number of years of education. My district is very low paying for our area. I only make $50,000 with 2 masters degrees and I have been teaching since 1974 (not all those years in our district.)

In San Antonio, they make about $35,000 per year to start out and they get raises of about $2,000 every year. If you have a masters degree, I think you start out a little higher.
