haha, ah lord. Do not get a tattoo of a girlfriend/boyfriend's name! Soooooooo bad of an idea, lol. Nothing is forever, sorry to sound so cynical, but a year is something you can still count in months. 12 months, not a long time! Even marriage these days isn't a for sure deal. My boyfriend and I have been together a lot longer than you and yours has, and I'd never let him get my name, nor would I ever get his on me. Just because you don't think you'll break up, doesn't mean anything. You love him right now, he loves you right now. That's the right thing to feel, no one goes around thinking, ah in about 7 months we'll break up, hehe. No one really plans on it like that. Since he's already got it though, I don't think the issue of your Dad finding out a big deal. Doesn't have anything to do with him. Not too sure how old you are though. I'm guessing teenager though. (sorry if I got that wrong) It's your boyfriend who has to live with your name on him, no worries about your Dad. Tell him if you want, and if you don't want to, don't.

tell him that if you must have your name on eachother wait until marriage because who knows if something happens until then (hope not but you never know). and tell him that getting a tattoo off hurts SOOOO much more than getting it on (getting it on hurts a lot!~my mom's friend told me).

I would tell your dad in a "that was stupid" attitude. Your dad will probably agree and you can agree that he made a bad choice. Laughing it off now will save you from a horrible conversation later.
