Do you think cats are superior to dogs? If so, Why?

I like both cats and dogs. But I prefer cats. My cat is clean, sweet, independant, funny and strong-willed. I don't like when dogs jump up on you or lick you and I especially hate it when they try to hump your leg. I guess I don't necessarily think that cats are superior though. I would even considering getting a dog, but not while we live on this military post where people think they just have to have dogs but can't bother to pick up their crap, we can't even walk or bbq on our grassy areas because there is so much dog poop, it's disgusting and it pisses me off that people can't be more responsible than that. Sorry, I know my little rant wasn't an answer to your question.

I think cats are superior to dogs(and I've had both) because cats are independent, don't need a LOT of care and you can leave them at home when you go away for a few days or more!

Neither, I have both and some are more needy than others. The claim that cats are more independent is a farce. It just depends on the animals personality. I had one dog that really didn't need me just a hug every once in a while. My cat Keeley on the other hand where prefer to be carried in a baby smock everywhere and hand fed(no it doesn't happen but she wishes). The others are pretty independent. That's like claiming females are better than males. There is no better, just some really interesting personalities.

I love cats and think my cat is very smart. Most cats are independant and considered to be low maintence animals. My cat loves attention and is only people friendly to the family.

duh! cats r SO superior! they r smarter, cuter, cleaner, sweeter, they don't demolish ur yard, & they don't reek.
